At this rate i think the rockets are going to make the playoffs and probably 1st round exit however if we do we loose our 1st round pick. what do you think is better for the organisation? playoff= attract more stars? lottery= deep draft maybe a star?

Winning a championship is the best route.

Playoff. I'm tired of no rockets when the playoffs come around.

*sigh* we're in too deep to just go for a pick now. might as well go all out.

It's too late to tank for a good pick. And besides make the playoffs already I already forgot what it felt like to be in the playoffs.

Obviously the playoffs. We won't qualify for a top 10 pick, so the chances of winning the lotto are almost nil.

At this point, if we miss the playoffs, we will pick 13th or 14th, and if we are lucky, we will get a star(ter).

Getting into the playoffs is better than getting the 14th pick again. I'm tired of getting stuck with that stinkin pick.

We have to keep fighting to show our aggressiveness. And at least don't forget Morey still does well in general when he has a lower rank pick.

    Playoffs.

You are making a couple of false assumptions by the way.

    1. The draft isn't as deep as people seem to think. It is very, very top heavy. Outside the top 10, which is where we would likely pick at this point, we have no legitimate chance at landing a star.

    2. If we don't give our pick to NJ this year, we still owe it to them. It's better to get it over with now so that Morey doesn't have his first round pick shackled in the future, when he is trying to make a trade.

I'd agree with 1 - but maybe even moreso.

Looks like the top 5-8 guys are fairly evenly matched. Beyond that it could be a crapshoot - will they or won't they be NBA capable players from 9 onwards.

    And on (2) - exactly.

This. And I'm glad for it as well... I wasn't for tanking at the beginning of the year and am obviously still not for it now.

I would take the playoffs over any pick.

    Play to win, baby!

Besides we already have more assets than we have slots... Lull, DMo, Morris - perfect time to payup on the pick we owe...

**** THIS ****! Let it go. I was all for the tanking but it is far to late to do that and I don't want the 14th pick. Go for the playoffs and pray to the basketball gods to pull an upset.
