These two songs were released by very underrated rap groups in the 90s. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/89NmCAfPTT8?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YCJ6f5VnVVo?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If you think rap nowadays is not as good as the old stuff, please listen to Kendrick Lamar and Undun by The Roots

^^^ Saw that a minute ago and was laughing. I like Odd Future but they are vastly over-rated. At Fun Fun Fun Fest I ran into Domo and Hodgy Beats walking around. Talked to Domo about how I like his mix-tape but nobody knew who they were. And they were headlining that night against Slayer. I think they can grow into something better but hopefully they can find better producers. Tyler's lyrics were vastly overshadowed by how unlistenable the beats were on Goblin.
Nope, just rappers that I prefer... And if you disagree about Jeezy... Than that says everything that I need to know about you.
Oh God, Future is the worst. That inclusion alone makes your opinion irrelevant. The best young rappers coming up today are Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Childish Gambino and XV. Frank Ocean is not rap, but him and the Weeknd are the present and future of their genres. Music today has improved vastly over the last decade, when the radio was full of snap music and Soulja Boy.
I like Jeezy, his recent 103 album was dope. But top rapper, cmon. What does it tell you about me if I disagree? Curious to know.
Yes, top rapper. Voice of the streets down south. It tells me that you did not know the before mentioned. But your opinion is exactly that.
Its time to drop some Masters of Ceremony on this thread. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7l5XHUj1JlQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
In my opinion, there are only a few great rappers/ lyricists out there. I listen to Joe Budden daily, and if you still think about "Pump it Up" when you hear his name, you're weak. Slaughterhouse Of course Nas and the all-time greats are timeless. Los is good Serius Jones is another Hip Hop is alive and well if you look in the right spots. I do wish someone would beat the brakes off of Drake's face. Wheelchair Jimmy is terrible and way too arrogant.
Ross...fine, but the authenticity isn't real. Jay-Z...alright, we know that. Kanye---better producer than rapper J Cole..only his mixtapes. His album..no. Future...NO. TI...before the arrests, he would have been close to being legit. He's okay though. I'm just glad you didn't throw Gucci, Waka or OJ in there. Burrr! GTFO.
I know every rapper you mentioned and I think I know way more past&present rappers than you, your mentioned artists are mainstream, hyped artists that every kid around the world knows. You still haven't stated what my opinion means homie, say it or shut up. Your list is basically the down south artists with the most sold units in the last decade and with the most plays on MTV, plus the most famous artists of today: Kanye, Cole and Jay-Z. You don't realize how dumbed down/clichè that list sounds to people that are deep into rap? Cole had beast mixtapes, his album was commercial as hell. Kanye and Jay just do it for mnoey nowadays and lost touch with the real hip-hop heads. Rick Ross? If you consider fat beats and rap about money "real", then okay. He's a fake thug, everyone knows that. T.I. started great but never evolved, he did songs with Christina Aguilera and ish, how's that real rap? Your list sounds like that of a suburban kid that only watches BET.
