Did anyone notice that with <2 seconds remaining in the game, the dude stole the ball and layed it up (and it counted)?
I'm not going to blame Melo because Deron is simple unstoppable tonight, you can tell he was absolutely focused and pumped up. When the Knicks were in striking distance, Melo killed them with missed free throws and consecutive turnovers, and that technical foul.
Stoudemire is officially past his prime. Chandler has worst hands than rookie Yao. Melo still thinks he's Lebron's equal, six turnovers. Lin is too passive tonight. JR Smith is just chucking. B Diddy being B Diddy. D.Will slayed the Knicks tonight, but the Knicks could have won despite his monster game.
Stoudemire shoots jump shots almost exclusively now. Melo was super rusty, took some bad shots and a lot of turnovers. His technical killed a lot of their momentum.
You think you have a speed advantage and will therefore try to beat her in a one-on-one by scoring as much layups as possible?
you're jumping to conclusions too fast. I'd give it a few weeks to see if Melo can get his scoring back and gel with the team. I thought Lin did the right thing to get him the ball, however, Lin didn't drive enough to hole until it was too late.
I dislike Melo as much as anyone, but it's his first game back plus he'll need time to adjust (or not). We'll see. I don't think he deserves the typical Melo criticisms just yet. And I agree w/ tinman (huh?). Lin should've just done his usual thing earlier (8 min left?) and live with the consequences. I know he was struggling along with everyone else. But deferring to Melo wasn't working out and they looked a little aimless when someone isn't taking the initiative.
I think amare will be the key here more so then melo to how Good the knicks will be. I believe melo will adjust fine once he gets his timing back. Amare. Oh boy....what has happened to him? This guy used to be so dominate with his back against the basket and he doesn't do that anymore. His 15 footer is usually money and now he keeps missing them. All of his point comes from assist going to the basket and is totally reliant on that. It's sad to watch someone once so dominate 30+ppg turn into a mere role player. The knicks ain't going anywhere soon until he gets back into his aggressive ways.
Can't believe I'm saying this but Boozer>Stoudemire. I'll cut Melo some slack for now but he played like trash.
The Nuggets got better when Melo left. The Knicks got worse when he came back. What does that tell you?
Amare can't drive anymore, he's a 29 year old in a 35 year old's body, capable of only shooting jumpers. Melo drove and missed wide open lay ups.
