It seems like they're just cycling through the available candidates to keep the news coverage from being too repetitive with the same people.

How? Will the base come out for Romney? Will independants vote for Santorum? How do either of them do it?
I'd be over the moon if it were any of the four candidates presently in the race. I can't even figure out which would be the worst -- I almost think they are all four equally bad and equally easy to defeat, only in different ways. Santorum and Paul can at least come off as likable and these races are in many ways about likability. Neither Gingrich nor Romney score well there; in both cases the more the electorate gets to know them the less they are liked.
Look at it this way: If Santorum can't hold on to Michigan, he isn't legit. This is his litmus test. The heat is on now and if he melts, another pretender bites the dust. I've always thought Santorum had a better chance than Newt, which isn't saying much. The real question is whether he or a new candidate is the real alternative to Romney. I read an article a few days ago that said there will be a serious push to draft a newcomer if Romney doesn't win Michigan because "Santorum will lose 35 states" in November. Daniels and Christie top the list.
Interesting stat: Romney raised $6.5 million in January, President Obama raised $29 million in January.
Those numbers may have been important once upon a time, but we live in a Citizens world now. To put it in perspective, one guy is about to voice his support for Gingrich to the tune of $10 million.

The number of people dropping out of the labor pool is alarming and it's padding his "improvement" (which is not happening) He is completely ineffective in working with Congress He even made fun of Special Olympians, for crying out loud. Why would Obama wipe the floor with any of the 4 exactly? What does he have going for him other then fudged numbers and a teleprompter?
Someone brought to my attention a couple days ago just how large a number 1 TRILLION is. He said if you spent one dollar every SECOND for the next 32,000 YEARS you will be pretty close to a trillion. And that's just 1 Trillion.
I know. I just want someone to show me a way that's even remotely possible for one of these guys to win. If its Romney, then he has at least a chance with independents but the base doesn't trust him. If its Santorum, then the base loves him but
