Fan like im a fan of the rockets? Not really. Im a fan of basketball so i do like to watch a good game, regardless of team/player. Call me old school but I don't have a "second team" or cheer for other teams/players. It does nothing for me. I'm emotionally tied to my hometown. I'll get more excitement out of a Rockets blow out victory than a Lakers Heat Xmas game. I know, I'm weird but thats me. Look, I'm not knocking anyone for cheering for Lin. I wanted him to do good too because it was a good story. But now that he's definitely here to stay, I'm not going to cheer for the Knicks. Especially when they have our draft pick. If it's ok for you guys to cheer for Lin, whats wrong with cheering for the Knicks to lose? Am I really in the wrong here for cheering against the team Lin is on? As for the draft pick, let's be real, if Lin wasn't on the team, you'd be cheering for the Knicks to do bad as well. Before Lin, I'm pretty sure the entire board wanted them to keep losing. Now with Lin, it's a dumb pick. If im not mistaken, that Knicks pick is our only 1st rounder if we make the playoffs. And with the 09 bust picks, youre not making a good point. Lin went undrafted, should we give up on the draft all together? Plus, we didn't draft those guys. Nobody said the pick will save our franchise but as a mediocre team like you said, we could use all the help we can get. We weren't going to get Top 5 anyways because its protected but the higher would be better. So no, I didnt think the draft pick was dumb talk at all. Its looking bleek right now but a kid can dream right? Seriously, a draft is one way to land a star in HOUSTON. Seems like every star only wants to play for LA, NY or MIA. I'll apologize for wanting the Rockets to get a higher draft pick in the deepest draft since 03, at the expense of another team. That makes me so awful.
Lin was playing excellent for the most part. Williams got most of his points with Fields on him. Net's are hitting nearly everything from downtown, 9 for 12.
the Nets came back when Lin sat out in the second quarter. The Knicks second unit needs some work. Baron and JR were just jacking up shots. No ball movement.
While I think hes playing well offensively and with help defense, I thought he did a terrible job of getting around screens. Of course Deron Williams is just really really good and shooting lights out, but Lin's been having trouble with screens for the last few games now.
actually. D.Will knocked down 3 or 4 threes when Lin was guarding him. either Kris Humpries or the other big guy set a hard screen for D Will and Lin was enable to get around.
I love this. For better or worse, Lin will get all the credit. And for the better undoubtedly, Carmelo will take all the blame. We've got a recipe for lockerroom turmoil on our hands.
My friend (asian guy, Laker fan, Lin hater though he is softening on that stance) said he won't truly be impressed by Lin until he sees a game in which the entire team (Lin included) is struggling from the field and Lin leads them to victory (a la Kobe in the mid-2000s). Watching the Rockets game but checking up on the boxscore of the Lin game. Looks like he has a legit chance here.
