    Martin is a defensive train wreck. He drags down every unit he's on.

    That unit that is negative 40 also has Hill on it, who is the worst defensive player on the team.

    Budinger isn't nearly as bad as people think he is defensively, all of the numbers consistently bear this out. He's proven to be a neutral defensive player, but he shouldn't be guarding great scorers, just don't pair him with a defensive zero like Martin.

    Martin has played better D this year. He isn't going to contain a great or even good scorer, but he's not letting average starters light him up.

    No , his net defensive rating is - 5, so actually he's somehow managed to get worse.

    Over half the teams were given either an A or B.

    Yeah, I mean, really? They have a horrible SOS and aren't exactly lighting the world on fire with W/L's. Probably just the analyzer being surprised at their minor success.
