True, we gotta pounce on Ibaka or Harden next trade deadline. I personally want Ibaka..

How about a smaller Pau Gasol trade idea.

I don't see any way we're getting Pau for just Scola + Dragic, but as I look over LAL's roster I realize that not only is PG a terrible black hole for them, dragging their entire team down, but SF is not much better. Matt Barnes is the only one even giving them respectable production from the three.

When you realize that the production LA is getting from PG and SF is basically D-League level garbage, you can see that upgrading from "shouldn't be in the NBA anymore" to "solid roleplayer" would be a big help to them.

At the same time, we desperately need to consolidate some assets, and I'd be willing to give up half a season of Dragic to upgrade PF.

    Houston in:
    Pau Gasol
Two terrible minimum contract benchwarmers of LA's choice (or they can cut whomever they want and send back nobody, who cares).

    LA in:
    Luis Scola
    Goran Dragic
    Chase Budinger
    Terrence Williams

I'd rather go for Harden, because I think DM is going to trade for a big guy anyway (Al Jefferson hopefully). Getting a decent big guy means you're trading Martin and other fillers (09 busts), so we're going to need help at SG.

Your right they have no reason to trade him now but they already have cap tied to Durant, Westbrook, Perkins and decisions on Harden and Ibaka going to be demanding paydays next off-season. Sign Lee to between 5-7mil then flip him plus a pick for Harden at the next trade deadline. I tbelieve a duo of Lowry and Harden would be near best back-court in the league!!

that would be sweet, but if we can pull this off without a pick, that would be ideal. Maybe some bench help.

Best perimeter defense in the league, plays on top 4 team in East. For the most part the N.B.A. tries to put the best players on the best teams in the A.S. game (unless they're really proven guys.)

I think we'd have to give both teams more for them to do it.

Well do you think Orlando can pull off a Lebron or Wade trade for Dwight? No. Its either role players or lose him to FA.

Yea there's no way in hell Orlando would give up Howard for Martin. Sorry man. They can do better than that trade.

Not to mention the Nets GM, lol. Wow, if only the Rockets could give up Lowry, Martin, Scola, Thabeet, and Flynn for Deron Williams and Dwight Howard. LMAO.

There is no way we can give up that little for D-Will + Howard. I'm all for pursuing them but it would take a lot more to bring them over.

More realistic for Howard and D-Will:

    Houston in:
    D-Will
    Howard
    Turkoglu
[minimum contract filler to make room on other teams' rosters]

    New Jersey In:
    Kyle Lowry
    Marcus Morris
    Patrick Patterson
    Johnny Flynn
    NY Knicks draft pick

    Orlando in:
    Kevin Martin
    Luis Scola
    Sam Dalembert
    Greg Smith
    Chase Budinger
Rights to Sergio Llull or a future first

It checks out according to RealGM's trade machine. ESPN's keeps glitching out when I try trades this big.

    Final roster:
    D-Will/Dragic
    Lee/Dragic
    Parsons/Turkoglu
    Hill/Parsons
    Howard/Thabeet

Still have the expiring contracts of Hill, Thabeet and T-Will on the roster to trade for a PF. Or maybe just pick up Kaman and run some two-center lineups. Motiejunas comes over in the offseason.

Maybe we can sell Smith on the whole "averaging 4 blocks/game" idea?
