Shroopy2, he just doesn't like Bynum. That isn't too hard to figure out why... since he states it later.
All the lin love, the thread got knocked down. Since they've been playing a lot lately, time to bring it back.
I'll repeat. He's not that good of a PG! He would be a great SG if they could bring in a pass-first guard. I'd trade Harden, Ibaka, Perkins, Nazi, and Aldrich for Nash, Gortat, Lopez, Markieff. Sign Ish. That will move him to his natural SG spot. Nash/ Smith Westbrook/ Jackson Durant/ Thabo Collison/ Morris Gortat/ Lopez Nash, Westbrook, Durant, and Gortat = Championship! They wouldn't be able to afford the money Harden would get and Ibaka is very overrated! Hell, I'd throw in an OKC 2012 1st and 2nd rd pick to get that in return. Get's some guys they can build around and finally start rebuilding.
I agree he needs to play the 2 and i also don't think they can keep both Harden and Ibaka with all that money in Durant, Westbrook and Perkins. They should just trade Ibaka and Harden to us for Lowry and Scola Then we trade martin for another player
Or am i wrong? Can they afford to keep both harden and ibaka? If not, who do you think they choose between the 2?
westbrick is a ballhog and a chucker. not a team player. doesn't make his teammates better. trade his sorry ass to the rockets for martin and a second round pick
There was a lot of fail in this thread because of posters idea of a pg. Whatever you want to call westbrook, 1st thing said about him is great basketball player. Dynamic, explosive, and fearless are others. Most of the complaints are from those who don't truly understand his value. Durant and that staff know how vital he is to the success of the team.
You say that I see this: 2011 Season Averages: 44.2% FG, 33% 3P 2011 Playoff Average: 39.4% FG, 29.2% 3P So please, don't act like all the Westbrick comments are unjustified and he's been hitting nothing but net his whole career, he earned his Westbrick moniker with his choke job in the playoffs last year, its up to him to erase that from everyone's memory this year. With his "value" to the team, its apparent OKC needs him because of two things: 1. Maynor is injured 2. For some reason Presti thought it'd be a good idea to pair two defensive players together in the frontcourt and play 3 on 5 on offense every possession. So really, OKC needs WB's chucking ways simply because they have no legit post threat. If they had someone like Scola or Landry in the PF spot instead of Ibaka they wouldn't need WB to take so many shots. Granted, WB has done a much better job in shot selection this year and he's been more efficient, but again we'll have to see if WB can sustain it in the playoffs. As far as the notion of a pg changing...I definitely don't agree with that. You can have a scoring pg like Parker, but at its core, a pg should be someone who can set up the offense for the team. That role is even more important ina team like OKC who has two offensive zeroes manning the frontcourt.
This will be the hardest decision made by OKC. Personally, I'd keep Harden. You already have Durant and Westbrook, but Harden can mimic Jason Terry's game; coming of the bench, and be the best player on the court for the second unit. But Ibaka is just such a good basketball player too! Harden may end up going somewhere else, just because it's obvious that he has star potential.
Every player has a differet role at different times. Did anyone ever say anything negative when zeke scored 25 pts in the 4th qt of the finals? No. Why? Because his team needed him to do it and it was helping the team win basketball games. Core or not, stocton and nash has zero titles. Kidd finally got one riding shotgun. Parker has 3 and that's not by accident and the teams with the top 4 records in the nba, 3 have scoring pgs. I guess the core is wrong or maybe you're stuck in a time machine of some kind. Maybe you just don't understand basketball simply put.
I betcha they lock up Harden this summer and wait till next summer on Ibaka. Either way, both guys will probably be in OKC 2 more seasons. (Next year for sure). The playoffs will set the table for negotiations this summer. Having 3 perimeter creators is what makes OKC elite. All 3 can get to the rim and finish or draw fouls and hit FTs. All 3 can hit the mid-range jumper. People talk so much about them not having a post-game threat, but I would not trade any of the 3 for any post-up player that might be available. It would be a downgrade. What post-threat is going to replace 25 pts/game "chucking" at 47.5%? WB still hasn't even hit his ceiling.
You are ignoring the fact that Durant couldn't get open half the time and was being physically shoved out of hte way on so many plays. Derrick Rose got a pass for sucking. Why doesn't Westbrook get the same one?
