I never tried to say he was the proximate cause. He for sure isn't the proximate cause and he isn't even the but for cause. But if you take him out of the equation and Melo doesn't get hurt and you put him back in the equation and Melo does get hurt that makes him a but for cause but still not a proximate one.
I'm not throwing out the wrong terms. If minus Jeremy Lin Melo doesn't get hurt he is a but for cause. However, nobody can say with certainty that that is the case.
I think you are overvaluing expiring contracts. I think the Niners have ZERO value as expiring contracts. Morey bought low on these guys and was left holding the bag with these guys. Now he is stuck with them. That's it. I thought Adrien had no chance. I also had no opinion of Lin in the preseason. He did nothing his first year and he was solid in the D-League. There are a ton of players like that. There is no person who can state they thought Lin would be averaging 25 and 9 as a starting point guard while getting to the line almost 9 times a game. I'm happy for the guy, but I still think this is the craziest thing in the history of the NBA.
So a second ago, you were certain enough of your argument to tell people to "look it up" because they "didn't understand" it. When people proceeded to call you out, you backpedal to the point where your original argument might as well be null. (Oh I wasn't certain! If I turn back time and prevent Lin from playing and Melo doesn't get injured - which is the whole unlikely basis for my argument, and why people were disagreeing with me before I threw out terms I didn't actually understand - then I'm correct and you were all wrong.) Do me a favor, stop defending yourself, take your ego out of the equation and objectively look at the arguments you're attempting to make. Then go study and stop embarrassing yourself.
Morons like you who keep trying to create tension on this site by pointing finger at fans from a particular region. You are one pathetic human being.
How is that proving anything? Dragic put up good numbers? That and he didn't get consistent starts of heavy minutes. Lin is on fire, he's not going to be shooting lights out forever. Everything else is impressive though. You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think Lin is going to be a 28 and 10 guy. He's having an unreal run. But, it's just a run. Of course every Lin fan is going to think i am hating, but i am not. He will end up solid in the end, but not some all world superstar like he is playing right now.

Spanoulis was just as worthless as Flynn, Hill, T-Will, if not more so. At least Hill gets playing time and T-will had a few decent games in Jersey. Morey was still able to make a trade with Spanoulis. Those guys might be traded for a conditional 1st or 2nd pick like Taylor, if anything. There is still 4 weeks until the trade deadline. It's too early to write off any trades. All 30 teams are quiet at this point.
You could be right, but you could also be wrong...The Lin train is still showing no signs of slowing down. Stop being a wet blanket, jeeze. Been a very dull season for most Rockets fans so far, a little fun never hurt anyone. How long before his run stops? 15 games? 20?
So you aren't going to admit MAJORITY of Lin fans that post in crazy excitement over their fellow Asian, are Asians? You must also hate stereotypes, but guess what? They exist for a reason. And yeah, i am racist. Even though my best friend is Asian. An Asian who so happens to agree w/ everything i say about Lin being Asian and Yao only fans going bonkers for him now and will eventually be Knicks fans(i mean Lin only). An Asian who has the same friends on Facebook who see person after person posting about how Lin is the best pg in the NBA and a future Hall of Famer, etc. All those people being Asian. You're just blind if you don't see most of the craze is from Asian homers.
Her family must be so proud about her "I'm a slut" sign televised to billions of people in China and America.
I'm not backpedaling. Go back and took a look at when I brought up but for causation and you will see that it was when somebody asked if I was blaming Lin. The whole but for proximate cause distinction is used to decide when we place blame. So even if Lin being on the court caused Melo to get hurt there is no blame to place on him because he is just the but for cause.
White people never root for white people? Black people never root for black people? Why do you have a problem with Asians rooting for Asians?
It depends on him. How he fits in with Melo who will demand the ball and also take all the crucial shots in a game. Everyone gets cold. How will he be able to cope with going on a very cold streak? I'm willing to bet his confidence has never been as high as it is right now in his life. What happens when all that confidence is shaken and the media gets over this story?
