I can understand your sentiment. However, Lin was a diamond in the rough. Both GW and Rox are stocked with good point guards. It's not inconceivable that he was out-played by Curry, Ellis, Lowry and Dragic in practice. On the flip side, there have been great practice players who couldn't play a lick in real games. We had Lin for a very limited time and there was no way we could have forseen what was about to transpire in New York. Again the Knicks, who's been desperate for a point guard, were going to cut him once Baron Davis was healthy enough to play. Lin's value came into fold after he got significant game time mintues in the current system he is in. Neither of which was possible in GW or Rox. I do agree that this certainly is a blemish on his resume, and that it shouldn't be overlooked, but I do not agree that this should be THE reason Morey should be fired.
MLE is for teams near or over the cap. yes. There is no MLE, when you have more capspace than than the MLE. Arenas rule was created to prevent teams from losing players that they would have normally lost. You can google "arenas rule" for more information.
The funny thing about these Lin haters/Draft pick hopefuls, is for some reason the guy we draft in the 5-10 pick range would be the second coming of Jesus, and our savior for this Rockets team from mediocrity. Yet, when talking about giving up Lin for nothing they easily dismiss it saying he wouldn't have gotten the same opportunity here behind Lowry and Dragic anyway (so we might as well just disregard that mistake where we let him go for nothing). Lin was probably better than anyone we could have gotten for 5-10 pick. That's the worst part about it, not the Knicks winning. Whoever we get is NOT going to be the SAVIOR for this Rockets team unless he's some Lebron James or Kevin Durant, but THAT is not happening.
So chances are that he stays in NY? Melo will eventually not like how much the ball is in Lin's hands even though Lin is proving he provides better winning basketball to that team than Melo. Melo has always been a fake superstar to me. **** Melo. That team ain't going anywhere.

wow. i can't believe you guys are still mad about lin. this is ridiculous. move on already and stop acting like children and bashing your own team.
gmoney's reasoning ability is about at zero. He should quit his day job of trying to become a lawyer with that kind of logic.
Look up your post history in this thread for examples of logical fallacies. The post I quoted was supposition (If Jeremy Lin wasn't on the court, Knicks would play differently, therefore Melo wouldn't have been injured) though it doesn't really matter what you call it, because it still has the logical bearings of an idiot.
Our legal system is based on the difference. Just because you don't understand the difference doesn't make it wrong
Im beginning to think we let the best pg on our team go. i hope not though but if Lin doesnt stop playing the way he is then he is on his way to passing Lowry on the pg ladder.
do you go to a tier 4 law school or something? and impressed with urself? keep throwing out those typical 1L terms
Our legal system is not based on you trying to use proximate cause in the wrong situation, arbitrarily deciding that if Jeremy Lin hadn't played Melo wouldn't have been injured without ANY evidence outside of your own ridiculous assertion. Seriously, get off the internet and study some more before you get wrecked by anonymous users on a sports forum, let alone trying to take the bar.
