I would be ecstatic if Lin was dropping over 50 pts and 25 assists to be next all-time greatest, as long as the Kincks were 1-8 instead of 8-1 for the past 9 games.

Morey's mistake has made the NY pick even more worthless. Before I was hoping for a top 5 lottery talent to drop to 6-10 range. Now I can only see another pick for a Brooks/Jermaine Taylor/Dorsey level player.

Jeff Adrien wasn't going to play time ahead of Scola, Hill, and Patterson, anyway. He didn't have any potential helping an opposing team win, unless you count the NBDL teams.

You watch the Celtics game? The Knicks were playing better ball then. Injuries are super random in basketball and without Lin on the court odds are that Melo doesn't end up with that injury. I just don't see the Knicks not getting better but its possible

That draft pick was going to be eh... Melo would have gotten healthy and they would have made a strong run into the playoffs. If you really are so upset over a mid draft pick, you should be wishing the Rockets trade Scola and Martin, play our young guys and see if they got what it takes with heavy minutes or lose and get a good draft pick. But, Houston is content with mediocrity.

He is only in his second year, so I believe he can't be paid more than the average salary (~5 million).

People like you think too much in terms of colors. Try to evaluate people for who they are, not what they look like.

I read somewhere (I think ESPN) that they have to trade Landry Fields away or something like that, to have enough money to sign Lin, because Lin will be a RFA.

Arenas rule. He is capped at the MLE. That's 70% cheaper than any PG dropping 25/8 night, not on a rookie contract.

Love the guy, was sold after today. If you don't think i mentioned that b/c of the endless amounts of Chinese Yao only fans here on clutchfans, than you can suck it easy.

Even though i am sold on him though, doesn't mean he would have freaking played here at all. That's the point. Get over it. Quit hating on Morey and co.

This is the one of the most r****ded cases of supposition I've seen recently. Good luck with with your career as a lawyer trying to win cases with logical fallacy after logical fallacy.

I'm saying injuries are random especially sprained knees. Wrong place at the wrong time wrong step etc. Lin changed that whole offense so Melo was doing different things, different place on the court. Him being on the court led to Melo being where he was on the court but it's not his fault. It's a but for cause.

Are the Knicks going to be able to match a full MLE offer this offseason with the team as is?

This is a stupid statement. You're basically saying YES and NO at the same time.

What do you even mean anymore.

Whoa there! He kicked butt in his 5 minutes he played in garbage time in the pre-season? Marcus Morris kicked butt in that game, not Lin.

Either way...I wish we had Jeremy Lin on our team ahead of Dragic. I am not a die hard Morey fan. I think he is a good GM, but he has certainly had his fair share of blunders before Lin. The Lin situation is disappointing, but I don't think it could have been avoided after the Stern nuked trade. We had 3 PGs under contract. Flynn being under contract was a result from the Donatas trade. Donuts better be a baller cause there is a lot riding on him.

Anyhow, maybe the Rockets should have given Lin more a chance in hindsight....MAYBE EVERY SINGLE TEAM THAT PASSED ON LIN (PRO AND COLLEGE) SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM MORE OF A CHANCE IN HINDSIGHT. Yes I yelled that :p;)

That said this performance by Lin is probably the craziest thing in the history of the NBA. Has there been any player who has come out of nowhere like this guy? He had 1 unspectacular pro year under his belt, so it's not as if he was a rookie. He has converted from a guard to a point guard in the NBA. He has screwy shooting mechanics. He is not a physical specimen. He is certainly is not the quickest starting point guard in the league. He played solid in the D-League, but the D-League is absolutely worthless.

I'm happy for Lin, but I can't crucify Morey for cutting him either. It's just unfortunate in my eyes.
