[Local] Conservative Talk Radio Host Michael Berry Involved in Hit & Run at Gay Bar

Whoa. The accident occurred on the street with only vehicular damage. I never read or heard that he was inside the bar. I never heard of this guy before this thread, but it appears there are some huge leaps of supposition here.

Like being a public holier than thou spokesman and driving away from an accident where you backed up 70 feet to smash a car isn't enough on it's on.

The point is that conservative dogma does not allow for the wide range of human desires, emotions, motivations and actions that are only taboo by their own definition i.e. not harmful to others.

And humility.

 

He's been talking about it this morning. He's saying the story was shopped by political insiders to media outlets. Also said that he's not anti-gay and he's criticized Karl Rove many times for using it as a wedge issue within the Republican party. Said he wouldn't discuss the facts of criminal investigation but is confident that justice would be served if it ever went to trial.

 

HPD is taking paint samples from the damage from the dudes car and matching it up to Berry's car. I don't know why this wasn't done as part of the initial investigation:

Michael Berry is not doing any interviews on his hit-and-run allegations, but today he talked about it on his radio show, to some degree.

"It is time I speak on an issue of some importance, at least to me...I'm going to do that right now, at least on the issues I feel are of the most important in this story," he said.

He said KPRC got its information "from unnamed sources," which isn't exactly true. (He called the station "SOBs," too.)

He said the "gay bar" aspects were highlighted to feed a "conservatives hate gays" theme in media.

"I don't bash gays," he said. "In fact, I bash people who bash gays," citing Karl Rove.

"GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT, YOU STUPID FOOLS," he shouted to "gay activists." "YOU WANT PEOPLE TO HATE YOU. I have never hated gay people; in fact, I've gone the exact opposite direction."

"I don't have to bash gays to prove I'm not one," he said.

Imitating a questioner, he said ""Michael, why would you go into a gay bar?"

He answered himself "I didn't. I went into a bar. There were gay people inside. Why did I go into a bar? Let me confess: `Cause there was cold beer waiting inside....Would it have been better if I was at a strip club?"

He said he went into T.C's Showbar because he didn't want to be bothered and the bar was a place where no one knew his name.

See this is additional proof that you're a hypocrite. What if Michael Berry is gay? There's nothing wrong with gay people, but apparently you think it's something to make fun of others for.

I welcome the day that gays are not made fun of.

 

He's choking on this story.

It looks like the police were trying to let him use the back door. But, they're on top of it. I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it.

Wait wait, he backed into the guy? You mean he rear-ended him?

 

His ducking is sick.

 

Sportsradio 610 just went off on the drive home. Apparently Berry lobbed some personal insults at Rich Lord and Josh Innes and completely lied about ratings on the air.

How could this be his defense strategy? How can he feel this is the correct way of handling this situation? It's mind boggling how much he has punked out - closing his Facebook and Twitter... if it was no big deal why make such a big cluster-****ing deal about it?

I only caught a bit of Berry’s ass-showing, but it was enough. As always, he only gets enough right to make all the rest of the ignorance and lies possible. Illustration one is his calling futbol KICKBALL. He either doesn’t know what kickball is or is being disingenuous. It’s the latter, probably.

He actually had a caller point out to his face how he lost his truck and called police and claimed that he had been mugged. It clearly touched a nerve. Michael mocked the way the man spoke — which the caller Ray pointed out. The Houston Chronicle article about the incident is now behind a pay wall, but I read it at the time and have access to it. I’m not sure Berry hit a car — maybe a parked one? — but I am sure that as a city councilman, he didn’t want to get a DWI, and so he faked the whole thing. Surely the lack of anyone being arrested or Berry filing any charges is evidence of that. Berry is a liar and he didn’t take well to being called on his bull****.

A battle between Berry and Innes would be EPIC.

And by epic, I mean STUPID.

And by stupid, I mean par for the course for both of their inane shows.

 

No kidding, all he had to do was provide his insurance information, but (allegedly) chose to leave the scene instead.
