What is the difference between the two? Is there any program out that shows you how to do Yoga or Pilates? & Which one would you recommend doing?

Pilates is core/ab-focused, while yoga is a more comprehensive body workout. I like doing yoga workouts at home. Some good videos include:

    - Yoga Fountain of Youth (part of the 1-on-1 set with Tony Horton)
    - Yoga-X (from P90X)
    - Mook & Bee's custom yoga DVD 1 & 2 (readily available via Torrent)

I believe pilates will use machines and other equipment while Yoga is all body.

I don't know any straight guys that do pilates. Not that that should sway your decision, there's just a larger male crowd in yoga.

It can be, but there are different kinds.

Hatha is very slow and mellow with lots of long hold-and-stretch poses.

Ashtanga is more about movement and can definitely give you more of a workout.

Then there's Bikram, aka "hot yoga," where they turn the temp way up and you wish you could crawl to the door to break air from under it.

I like Ashtanga and was going to go to a class this a.m. with Mrs. B-Bob. But we got lazy instead.

I don't think pilates have anything to with being straight or not. I have seen basketball teams do pilates and I'm sure they not gay. I tried pilates once and it was just the beginning stage, I just wanted to quit. Its hard.
