7 games against the spurs and thunder. 3-4 record, only outscored by 8 points total in all games combined.

I know the playoffs are a whole different animal, but I refuse to believe this team will be an easy out for anyone in this shortened crazy season. Injuries and trades still are in play to swing things for anyone.

Tanking at this point is out of the question.

Good point. Last time there was a shortened season, an eight seed made it to the finals.

You want to lose to the Jazz?

F-That, and I've been pro-tank since the first week.

If Morey wanted to tank, he would have done so a long time ago. Obviously he feels like he's a few pieces away from a contending team, (as you saw from the nixed Gasol trade/Nene signing) and he will be very active at the deadline to take this team to the next step. Losing isn't the answer.

Utah and Dallas. I can't stand to see these two teams win.

As bad and inconsistent as the rockets have been I can't see them losing to the Jazz at home, Jazz are like the washington wizards on the road.

Man even if you want to tank (I don't get that, never will) how the hell could you stand watching the Rockets lose to the Jazz? Especially if you were alive in the late 90's or even during the Mcgrady/Yao years. Makes me want to puke.

The thing is the Rockets don't cause any kind of match up problems with the Thunder like the Grizzlies or the Warriors did with their respective 1st seed matchups. They would just sweep us or lose one game in a seven game series. The Spurs, with their age and injury history, are a different story.

We're already half way through the season, the Rockets might as well do what they've been doing for almost 3 years.....be mediocre. This is a whatever year, we knew we weren't going to do anything significant after that whole trade debacle. We might as well be patient.

Even if we do make a first-round exit in the playoffs, making the playoffs is still good for player-moral. Who knows, maybe it'll bring more of the fair weather fans out. I know we lost a bunch after Yao. A lot of fans around the league seem to think we suck, which we probably do, but making the playoffs and maybe making some noise could make them think twice about us.

I hope we win as much games as possible. Even if we do lose our draft pick to the nets

We could swap places on the ladder if we lose.

We're going all in for the playoffs this season, it's too late to tank. Man, this place was much more livelier/upbeat/positive last year. I don't why everyone is so down, we're not the only team that is losing games that we're supposed to win. Everybody (including the media) pegged the Nuggets/Blazers to ultimately be a top seed after the Thunder when they both started off hot but look at them now, the same record as us. No one expected to do anything, we're projected by a bunch of experts to be the 10th, 11th seed but we're still deep in the playoff hunt neck and neck with the Nuggets/Blazers/Jazz.

I personally think a decent winning season, even 8th seed, on a short season and with a new coach not getting a real training camp would mean we are serious next season. And even if we got a decent pick it is still a crap shoot. Or do i need to point out the huge pile of 09ers at the end of our bench.

nothing is guaranteed. PLAY YOUR BEST. NEVER TANK.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but Jordan Hill injured his knee in practice yesterday and will miss 2 weeks.

Yep, and Greg Smith makes his NBA debut lol. I hope he gets some burn and comes out on fire. Our big man rotation has been really letting us down all year, Dalembert lacks focus, Hill has no brain, Scola is as tough as tissue paper and PPat is injured. We really need an enforcer who isn't afraid to bang with anyone.
