Hell man Houston Deke was damn near 50 years old & would still be the best defender on this Rocket team.

It'll all change if they can get someone like Kaman. Patterson will benefit greatly too.

Remember he's the Rockets only presence in the post other teams know that. More minutes at C this season aren't helping. His TOs are up because Yao and Hayes were better passers and that's why they did it. Dally's also one dimensional on the defensive end.

I'm not even gonna argue about who's the better coach. Simply, it's pretty much the players that make the difference. I mean for the past month, Pek (most people underrated him, including me) and Love have been destroying the boards. We simply don't have those type of players. Dally is only good for a quarter or two. Scola is getting slower and his age is finally catching up to him. No one is falling for his post moves anymore and Rick, of all people, will know that. Pat doesn't even have the post moves that can be effective against those guys. He ends up being a jump shooter. Same for Hill. Our 4 and 5 cannot out-muscle their 4 and 5. They're just one of those teams where we don't match-up well because of their players, especially their bigs.

The thing is we are pretty old at the PF and C.
We are young else where but the post.

2 old guys in the post vs 2 young guys...

Sigh, when will we ever be a non-jumpshooting team? T.T

Pretty much. Not to mention that one of their young guys happens to be good at shooting three-pointers as well as rebounding like Dwight Howard

Dude if we had access to a time machine there's a monument outside the toyota center of the guy we would get.

Pekovic is a 26 yr old, 2008 2nd round draft selection. He came over, last year.

Scola is an exception and the only post player over 30.

Dalembert, Hill, Patterson, Smith, and ThaBust are all in their 20's. Only Dalembert at 29 is older than Pekovic.

Age is just an excuse. Rockets talent is younger but undeveloped. They need to develop some of them or trade them.

We have 4 people on the entire team that can actually defend their man one on one (Dalembert, Lee, Parson, and Lowry). Everyone is a liability on D and requires help. The previous group mentioned can't play the majority of the game together because Parson's is iffy and his defender is helping off him and Dalembert, which makes it difficult to score.

why are there rumours of the fuhrer coveting Pau? Sure, Zangief won't be doing fancy behind the back passes like the glorious brad miller, but he is strong in the post.
