People need to stop acting like JR Smith is a big deal. Yes, he is very athletic and can get hot from 3 pt land sometimes. But you also have to ask how a guy with his talent can spend 7 years in the NBA and never make it as a starting calibur guard. He's absolutely useless on the court when he isn't dunking or shooting a three. He has no idea what to do in an offensive set, and gets lost often on defense. He has a very low basketball IQ.

In fact, he has a low IQ in general. This is the same guy who signed a no-out contract in China without realizing that he actually had to play out his entire contract in China.

Really don't understand this move. I'm already hesitant about Melo returning and now JR?
The clipps would have been a more then perfect shot for him.
For one LAC need him since Billups went down, he can give them a much needed lift. Second he will fit in there system better i believe.
We already know that most likely Chi-Mia will meet up once again. The west is all over the place and anything can happen.
He blew it unless they find a way to gel.

Bottom line is, $$ talks. Clip's could only offer about one mil. Knicks will give him close to twice that.

knicks contenders for what? 2nd round? Thats the best possible scenario for the knicks.
for me the clippers are a better team than the knicks.

The Knicks can't just elevate their play to become on the level of the Heat or the Bulls. Both are more talented, more deeper, and better defensively and I just really don't see how they can overcome any of those things to contend with those two.

LA is a major market, 2nd largest.

LAC i'd say is a bigger contender right now than the Knicks are. They also have it a little road than the Knicks would since the Knicks would have to beat both Chicago and Miami without HCA.
