Superstar treatment is nothing new my friend. Look at the way Hall of Famer Red Auerbach treated Bill Russell. Red was quoted as saying he had a set of rules for the team and a different set for Bill Russell. http://www.scribd.com/seif_eldeineo/d/71336840-Book-Review-Red-and-Me-by-Bill-Russell That was what? The fifties? And the team had other Hall of Famers on it! I'm not saying Lebron is without fault but I wouldn't cry for Dan Gilbert if I were you in this case. He's a billionaire who lives like a king rather than sporting the silly nickname. He'll take another superstar as soon as he can get one and pay him the max as quick as the guy can sign. Life goes on and at the end of the day its business.
Naive to think that Cleveland would accept him back. The money he donated is great appreciated but every big name celeb donates and most of the time it's because someone tells them to do it.
The hate is irrational. The Decision was never offered to any player by ESPN and thus why nobody other than Lebron did this. Lebron ain't perfect and sometimes delivering in the clutch on an important game just isn't there. Set aside that there's no explanation that is logical to hate Lebron. He's pretty modest and the hype came to him not the other way around.
i'm pretty sure when the news broke a month or so ago that lebron was not ruling out the cavs when his extension came up that he must have received plenty of goodwill toward it. he knows that kyrie is going to be good by then and he can return to a loaded roster. it just makes sense.
Why would they? If he came back that means he failed to win a title with Wade and Bosh in Miami. If he wins a title(s) with the Heat he's retiring there. He'd be a washed up 30 something. That famed athleticism? Gone. I'm sure Cleveland fans would be just fine with a prime Kyrie Irving and don't need an over the hill Lebron hogging the ball.
Pretty modest? Really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1XPwoVMV2E after quitting on his team. Most disgusting display of arrogance from an athlete since Kobe's Game 7 '**** you' game against the Suns.
Bill russell was a leader of a differnet kind, he brought 11 championships and didn't bring his possee everywhere or have photoshoots where photogs weren't allowed to talk to him directly. Bill and Red had turst because they won togehter and he knew he was all about winning. Lebron never earned it, he put up stats, but never would take criticism, made trades etc..not kobe, not mj, no one gogt the treatment as high as lebron did with tentire keys to the whole load of whatever he wanted without a hint of criticism. It was on adifferne level and all those guys were winners all lebron did is talk, blame others, and promise 7 championships and has never delivered.
LerBon should know not to take any bait on commenting about Cleveland or even the state of Ohio. Whatever he says will be turned negative. Next time he's asked, just give the reporters a troll face (shouldn't be hard for him) and keep repeating "lolque?"
Listening to the interview, it sounded like he was just telling the reporter what he wanted to hear. He didn't sound passionate about it at all.
Exactly. It was a PC answer. I f he said what he really felt or said nothing, LeBron haters on this board and elsewhere would have roasted him
It was a stupid question for a reporter to ask him. Ideally, he should have ignored the question. Failing that, giving the answer he gave is the right PR move. It's not great, but it's better than saying no. But, there's no reason anyone should believe anything he said there and it's kind of dumb to even bother publishing it (aside from the page views). Lebron James will not actually ever consider returning to Cleveland; Dan Gilbert will never take him back; and Clevelanders wouldn't want him back anyway.
According to Yahoo, James sent a similar private message to the Cavs front office. If true, pretty damn strange. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...lebron_james_opt_out_cavaliers_gilbert_021712
Lol he playing them good. If the front office falls for this, then they deserve all the negative things that befalls upon them.
Man LeBron really makes it hard for people to like him, whats more important is how would you feel if you were his teammate?
