I agree, 3-4 minutes is a joke. Which is what he got for about two games before the team decided to send him down to the Dleague.

This after he played pretty well in preseason against NBA competition. I just think honestly (and I know I'll catch some flack for this and that will be fair) he should have got the opportunity over Parsons. Even though Parsons is producing now if you think Morris is going to be the better player in the long run then give him the same time and patience.

I think it goes against the team's philosophy to put in players that can't contribute to Winning Now.
You just need to trade Kevin and Luis away and there are plenty minutes for others.

Maybe he gets waived by the Rockets in the offseason and then explodes for 6 consecutive 20+ pt games.

He'll be the black Jeremy Lin without the couch.

I'm liking Parsons more the more I see of him. I really think he is developing into a Battier type glue guy with worse shooting and better rebounding. He's playing like an all-star on defense, so for Morris to be better he'd probably have to play like an all-star on offense. He isn't at that level, bro.

Yeah, Parsons contributes better now so he gets the nod. I understand that completely just don't agree with it.

I think the Rockets want to be in win mode and rebuild mode and you can't do both at the same time. I think experience plays a big role in a players development and that Morris would probably develop better doing his best against the best.

How do any of us know that? All we've done is thrown him in there in a new system for like 4 mins...watch him look lost...then send him to the Dleague. Also the Rockets have said they had high hopes for the guy, if you have high hopes for a young player you find a way to play him.

In preseason against NBA competition he certainly didn't look like a slouch.

No question. Kieff is doing great out there.
Maybe he is in the dog house. Coach likes player dropping that ass low and playing hardest. I don't know how hard he works but in the games he seems to bring 60 percent of energy.

    Sure - that's true(ish)

In the NBA preseason Morris played (primarily) as a 4. That is, he got a taste against NBA competition in a position that he was more familiar with.

If they want him to learn a new position, and at the same time hope that he'll develop into a primary scorer in that position, then certainly there's some benefit in using the D-League for a while.

The way I see it, if Morris is to become a highly successful wing, he'll be something Danny Grangerish. Took Granger a while to 'take over' at NBA level, and might take Morris a little while to first make the adjustment (to being perimeter first/ post second) - best he does that in the D-League. THEN he can come into the NBA and adjust to doing it against the top competition.

Well then that's just the wrong approach. Reality doesn't always meet your expectations, that's why you base your strategies on reality rather than your own preconceived notions. The Rox drafted Morris at 14 and Parsons in the 2nd round because they thought MM would be better, so far that hasn't happened, not because MM sucked but because Parsons is playing so well.

Posters here focus too much on his flaws but the thing is he held Durant to a horrible percentage, and caused him to miss 3 shots that would have tied/won the game. With Parsons you have an all-star defender who isn't a zero on offense. Taking the PT away from him and giving it to Morris just because you drafted him higher would be doing what the Grizzlies did, benching Lowry because Conley Jr. was drafted number 3.

Jeremy Lin has proven that the Rockets do NOT play, nor keep their best players. They make mistakes.

Terrence Williams is the guy that scares me.

I think Marcus Morris is being hidden in the Dleague, while we showcase others for deadline trades.

parsons was thrown in the exact same situation as morris but ended up in the rotation. parsons is simply just a better defender than morris and thats why he got the nod. when i saw a d leaguer drive by morris on close out, it all made sense to me why he's there in the first place.

It is obvious we can't pair him up with Martin and Scola in the line up.

I believe there's place in the NBA for a guy like Morris (a 3/4 type w/range). Maybe just not in Houston. I hope they give him shot at some point though. It'll be a shame to not find out. Maybe he'll get dealt at the deadline and bring back a draft pick. He'll get his shot and we'll build for the future.

Parsons hustles good and defensively i think he's overrated... offensively he has potential to be a lot better. I agree that Morris should have got a better shot. Parsons missing free throws the way he does... that would be brought up a lot more and called out... and probably benched immediately if that were Morris or some other young player.

The box score says Jermaine Taylor is on the Vipers' roster.
