I think the better question is: Did Stern save my Dating Life? For me, that's probably a yes. Our current roster is not going to result in me getting distracted thinking about the Rockets during a date. With the trade and Linsanity in Houston, I'd break up with any girl who got in the way. Note: I live in Boulder, so would not benefit from Houston girls jumping on the bandwagon. But then again, if I had Yellow Fever, it would help my dating a lot.
Are you serious? There were a number of people pissed that we cut Lin to begin with and there were even more who said that Lin should be getting significant playing time with the knicks. Obviously nobody knew he would blow up like this, but we never should have cut him. Morey knew he was better than Flynn and did it anyway...
I love good NBA conspiracy theories, but that one falls flat... we've known that Houston was getting the 2013 All-Star Game since August. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=207714 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=207718 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=207719
yea. was thinking the same thing when I read it. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to find out when it was orginially leaked that we would be getting the ASG.
True enough. But we cut Lin as a cost savings measure since Flynn is guatenteed. In the NBA, if there is any doubt in your mind, you always err on the side of talent. It seems the Rockets err'd wrong. Hindsight, I know. I suspect the Rockets figured Lin was margionally better than Flynn but not worth eating the contract. I think the lesson is unless you are talking huge figures, go with talent. Flynn is on a rookie contract so he isn't big dollars.
How could anyone have cost us anything when we already have two starting caliber PG's??? Give it up already.
If anything, Morey did Lin a favor by cutting him. He would have never played with Lowry and Dragic before him.
Of course he did, Stern's actions are despicable. He has greatly soured me on the league at least while he is at the reins.
I don't mind so much losing Lin - I just hate that he went to the Knuckleheads and f'ed up our 2012 draft pick. I seriously hope the king ballstopper (Melo) will spoil Lin's coming out party (no offense to Lin).
You didn't read the OP. Dragic and Martin were both part of the Gasol trade that Stern blocked. It is pretty clear Lin would have been retained if we had traded our backup PG and starting SG. And the way McHale used two PG together a lot in the early part of the season, Lin would have got some burn, for sure.
Lin Lee Parsons Gasol Nene This team could go deeply into the playoff. But we still need a major star player to win it all.
