If Miami gets Kaman this way, it's even more blatant collusion by the NBA to strengthen their darling teams. Thank God the Heat have Battier. The Duke curse will keep the trophy out of South Beach.
I'll play third wheel in sending Pau to Minnie (i sure as heck dont want his contract)... Hou out - Scola, Dragic, Bud in DWill, Beasley, Goudelock Minn out - Beasley, Dwill, Darko Minn in - Pau and Bud Lakers out - Pau, Goudelock Lakers in - Scola, Darko, Dragic Tell me thats not great for every team! Minn become instant contenders w Pau/Love/Rubio plus if theyre gonna pay Gasols salary: they have a cheap Bud, arent gonna be able to resign Beasley anyway and still have 2 centers (Pek/Miller) Lakers get the pg upgrade they need and get Scola/Darko for 5M less than Gasol - giving them some depth We get some youth to grow on... Klow/Flynn/Goudestock (2 yrs cheap -he got off a few nights ago) Kmart/Clee Beasley/Parsons/Twill/Morris PPat/DWill Sam/JHill/Thabeet theres 101 combos that will help all parties involved! if we could then turn the expirings into Kamen... Klow/Goudestock Kmart/Clee Beasley/Parsons/Morris PPat/DWill Sam/Kamen THATS solid with growth potential!
Pau is MUCH better than Pekovic. Not even close. Having Pau at C playing with Love and Rubio would make Minny the best passing team in the NBA. Love and Pau would play very well off each other on offense, especially with Rubio at PG. But the Lakers aren't stupid enough to give Pau up for Derrick Williams + whatever. This trade notion is DOA because of the Lakers. T-Wolves would do it without hesitation.
LOL and the lakers still do not get a good pg. this is what i'm afraid could happen... Minny gets: Pau Gasol Orlando gets: Andrew Bynum, Derrick Williams, Ridnour + Minny pick Lakers get: Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson
Pau would be great for Adelman's offense. He is a very good passer and would function the same way Hayes did for us last year, only better.
That makes a lot of sense actually. I still don't see LA giving up Bynum and Gasol, but maybe the prospect of getting Jameer makes it more palatable.
Oh for sure. A starting lineup of Jameer,Kobe,/Barnes,Murphy,Dwight would be better than what they have now. We all know how 3pt shooting power forwards tend to excel with Dwight too. Murphy would be a Ryan Anderson or a Rashard Lewis. Oh and Troy can rebound better than those two as well. Hope this doesn't happen. Lakers would have Kobe/Dwight and Minny would have Rubio Love Gasol and we're still stuck with an 8th seed team with no superstar. Ouch.
If Minnie wants Pau, there are sooooooo many great possibilities for us to play third wheel... i posted 3 or 4 on random trade thread... basically give the lakers Scola (to replace Pau at 10M/yr less) but upgrade their pg with Dragic, and give em a bu center (Pekovic, Darko, or JHill) send Pau to Minnie and give em Bud (since if they take gasols contract, wont have room to resign Beasley). Take young talent from Minnie (Beasley, DWill...) who need to shed some payroll to pay Pau... I hope Morey is all over this scenario.
You don't think Love and Pau have overlapping strengths? I know they're not the same exact player, but it still seems like a lot of money to be paying to two players who do similar things.
Kaaaaahn! This is the same team who drafted Lawson Rubio and Flynn in the same year and went out of their way to sign Barea when they already had Rubio and Ridnour. So Kahn going after Pau when they already have Gasol doesn't surprise me one bit. I mean who would be when their manager is.. KAAAAAHN!
Yeah, he's half a foot taller and has tons more skill. But if Pau had half of Chuck's will & determination he'd be the best player in the world. Still I Pau, Kevin Love, Rubio with Adelman calling the shots? Now ya talkin. I'm starting to like what Minny is cookin.
I RIGHT?!?! What are our Euro-scouts doing, watching players that the Rockets ALREADY drafted/own the rights too?!?! GO SCOUT SOME FRESH TALENT!
Oh it's not Battier that will curse them. There just so happens to be a Juwanna man on that team. Now that is the real curse.
Miami looks awesome already. With Kaman they would awesome enough to overcome that Duke curse or Lebron's disappearing acts.
That's a good deal for Orlando, a no. 2 overall, a draft pick, and a young center. Lakers get Howard and solve their point guard problem, but wouldn't have a PF to put next to him, which pleases me. Minnesota gets robbed, but Kahn's at the helm- so anything is possible. Would the Lakers have enough to sign Williams though? That prospect scares me the most.
