Thanks. Fun interview. McHale said it. Shortened training camp and deep position. It was a mistake made and more will be made.

i think this has to back up what the rockets are doing with the Vipers. A lot of us didn't like that Morris was sent out there and is still there, but wouldn't have Lin benefited from being sent down there, so that he could be more of a focus there, than an afterthought here? Everyone failed to realize how good Lin was or could be because they put him in limited roles. Most players aren't going to go against this and do their own thing.

Looks like the tweak needed is to run as many players through it as possible, rather than only those who need to be stashed or lottery picks.

McHale seems like a decent dude. But Cowherd's got the most grating voice. Damn

-(Lin/NY story): Amazing. Lin is a great story. Great kid. We really liked him. If I thought he was capable of this, we would have kept him. He is a good guard. Active, great guard, high energy, intelligent, fun to be around, knew how to play. We had 3 PGs under contract and got squeezed out. I couldnt be happier for the kid. Wonderful young man. I've caught Linsanity. We were on the road the other day, I went and found a sports bar to watch him play. It's fun to watch the kid play.

-(Is it Lin or the system?): Always the skill set and the system. A combo of both. Nash had 2 MVPs in that system but you still have to be able to play. Everyone is passing and moving the ball. Before they were holding the ball and looking terrible and not fun to watch. Now they're fun to watch. To answer your question, it's both. Mike has a PG friendly system but also give Lin credit.

-Larry was saying, "Look at Kobe's resume." What he said was accurate. LeBron would be fun to play with. He is a pass first guy. He has a big smile, he enjoys playing basketball. Kobe is Kobe. He'll go down as one of the best closers, one of the all-time winners. You look at him and Michael, those are probably two of the best two guards to come along. I understand what Larry is saying. It's not a slight on LeBron. He said when it's winning time, you just don't get the name Black Mamba for nothing. They dont call you the White Mamba. I understand what Larry was saying.

-On LeBron, after you play him, you say, "When do we play him again and I hope its no time soon." That guy is amazing. I stood next to LeBron the first time I coached against him, I looked at him, and I walked over to our bench and told our coaches we're in trouble and that's just from standing next to him. He's huge, he's fast, he can pass, he's a handful. You cant prepare for LeBron James. Hes a physical freak. A great player. Unduly gets ripped at times for other stuff. They have a great closer in Wade and thats a good combo. Impossible to gameplan for him. A freak of nature and great player. I do believe he is the best all-around player in the NBA today. Skillset is so amazing. He is fun for me to watch and love the way he plays.

(How hard or easy to get back onto the sidelines with the young players)- It has its moments. Young guys try hard. You want them to be more clever. Understand the game better. It happens through time. You want your guys to be better and older. Its time and experience. Experience is the best teacher in the NBA. We have to go out and punch them in the mouth. Fight as hard as you can, fight every possession and let the chips fall where they may.
