Your very tone suggests your scorn. The fact that you start a thread like this suggests your scorn. Funny how white racists glance aside the very notion but need to reinforce a black man's stereotyping as if to say, "See? See?" Reminds me of my dad. Really a great guy, EXCEPT his ingrained opinions about black people. Like when he refers to MLK as a "racist". Well, Dad, I think you don't see the complete picture; and talk about the pot and the kettle. Maybe you, bigtexx(x?), can use this post to start yet another thread: White dude's semi-subtle racism against blacks. But that wouldn't really be news?
Texxx and Estiban sitting in a treee. K I S S I N G ---- The comment was dumb and if his employer deems it inappropriate then the brah deserves to get fired. That said, if anybody thought Texxx was being genuine then perhaps his thread would be more brahlevant. But since we all know he's race baiting, responding means we are just sucumbing to his brahctics.
What if he had said 9 inches of pain? would it still have been racist? Six inches? Just wondering. What an idiot Whitlock is.
Clearly a racist joke. No doubt about that. And as I have said for the last 10 years, people shouldn't get fired for letting their guard down a little and making a stupid comment. It is a racist joke, but that doesn't necessarily make someone a racist. I don't like the writer, but I don't like how if anyone makes any kind of joke that is offensive they lose their job. The guy apologized and that should be enough. That's true for Imus, for Fuzzy, and for George Allen. Should they lose their jobs for being really bad at them. Sure. But I don't like where this is going. Feels very jihadist to me.
It'd be a lot easier to have rational discussions about things if so many of the most vocal tea-baggers weren't so ****ing r****ded. I get lumped in as a 'liberal' frequently, but people fail to realize that the only reason I appear that way is because the arguments used by the 'conservatives' are so ******* ridiculous, so completely lacking in rationality, that I just can't find a way to pass them by. I agree with many self-identified 'conservatives' on many things, but I just can't tolerate their stupidity. Side-stepping the idiocy because I might have similar feelings on a few points would be like hugging a giant turd just because we both spend some of our time in the bathroom.
It was a racist joke, but he won't lose his job over it, just like Shaq wasn't really punished for his jokes about Yao, and it's a ridiculous double standard.
We all know journalists only lose their job if they say racist stuff about blacks, or sometimes jews. I mean, did Steve Kerr get fired for blurting out a "Chinaman" during a live game? Nope
