    The Texans have a top 3 offense when Matt Schaub is healthy (behind NO and NE). Add last years defense to that and you have something you don't want to mess with.

    The Texans offense requires a QB that can keep the chains moving. If we can get Schaub at least a 3rd and 5, we have a great chance at converting.

    DOWN = 3 TO GO <6 - 26/36 72.2% 8.17 AVG 1 TD 0 INT 105.6 RATING

    Schaub is also great when we surprise people and throw it on first down.

    DOWN = 1 TO GO 8-10 - 66/99 66.7% 11.85 AVG 6 TD 3 INT 114.6 RATING

    In fact when you look at all of his splits from last year...he was great when put into every position except for 3rd and long. Our team is not built to handle those situations very effectively, especially while Andre was out.

    DOWN = 3 TO GO 8-10 - 11/30 36.7% 6.93 AVG 0 TD 2 INT 33.7 RATING
    DOWN = 3 TO GO 11+ - 5/7 71.4% 11.43 AVG 0 TD 0 INT 109.2 RATING

    Bob Allen seems mad :p

    "I was told Peyton wants a team that can win right away because his clock is ticking."

    "I talked to someone in the Texans FO this morning. Chances are slim that this would happen. The fact he is interested though is worth mentioning."

    "One side would have to adapt."

    "I think Mario will be a FA. Don't think they can afford him. Not to take anything away from Mario, but Reed did a hell of a job. Think they'll get Arian and Chris signed. The money not used on Mario I think they can use on a quality receiver. Next is corner.

    Here is an article to end all the Schaub to Redskins talk.

    You would be getting robbed in that trade.

    Two #2s and a #3?

    Hell, we gave up two #2s for him when he hadn't even proven anything yet.

    So, all that cache that Matt has built up as a solid starter and borderline top 10 QB is only worth a #3?

    I realize he was hurt last year and is 31 years old, but it's not like he's expected to dropoff or call it quits anytime soon.

    Skins would have to take on a large contract. Schaub isn't a spring chicken anymore and has been injury prone. Perhaps another team would give up their 1st for him if that's what you want. You still take the best package a team can give you rather than cutting him outright. Schaub to Washington just makes sense if the Redskins can sign Manning or trade up to the #2 spot for RG3.

    To stay on topic, Manning to Houston makes sense as well. He wants to compete and Washington is still pretty far off. He comes here to an elite D and a competant O-line with a running game. Not to mention that one guy named Andre Johnson.

    I'll take Manning, let Mario walk, resign Foster/Briesel and fill the roster holes with the 2012 1st, two 2nds, two 3rds.

    If you read the article and the commentary, it gives much more reasonable input to what the Reskins bloggers / fans will want in Washington. Much better perspective than the arguments and speculation posted here. /end

    1) He's due $7,150,000 (11th most among QBs), not exactly bankbusting for a QB, and most certainly not overpaid.

    2) I've said it time and time again, there's a difference between "injury prone" and "often injured". If anybody can show me some medical evidence to suggest that Matt Schaub is a higher injury risk than any other QB, I'd love to see it.

    If you asked a Raider fan to write a similar piece prior to the Carson Palmer acquisition, I don't think their proposed deal would be anywhere near what transpired. We're fans and this Redskins blogger is a fan. It makes for interesting discussion, but ultimately, it means very little to the likelihood of a deal or what the value would be in front offices. As such, I think saying one random opinion could "end all talk" is assuming a bit much. :)

    who is more likely to play all 16 games in a given season: Matt Schaub or Ben Roethlisberger?

    Let's see which division Albert Haynesworth ends up in... then I'll tell you if Schaub is more injury prone.

    This entire argument doesn't really matter if Manning is done. I'd rather keep Schaub than have Manning throwing wobbly 20 yarders all season.

    Yep.

    All of Matt Schaub's injuries have resulted completely independent of one another.

    Sometimes that's just how the dice come down.

    Now, if he was getting a broken/ankle foot every other year, had recurring back problems, or multiple concussions, or repeated neck surgeries etc.

    Then yeah, I'd classify him as high risk. Science can explain to us how/why someone gets hurt or is more likely to get hurt, otherwise, we have crappy luck to help us pick up the rest of the tab. If you prefer to be lazy and just say he's brittle, ain't my problem.

    Roethlisberger is obviously bigger and stronger than Schaub - but he's oft-injured and routinely plays hurt. He sprained his ankle in week 14 and played three lousy games because of it, including a playoff loss. Yea! He played every game! But should he have?

    Regardless of his injury past... he hasn't really done anything that makes me feel like he's a winner. You need to look no further than the Oakland game this year. Given that he didn't get his fair shot this year with the elite D, I wouldn't have a problem moving in another direction based on Schaub's track record here.

    Unless you know how to unleash his secret form:

    Well it's purely subjective. There have been worse QBs that have won superbowls. Yeah, he moves the chains fine. Yeah, he's thrown for 4k yards. To me, something is missing. Perhaps leadership... it's something intangible.
