Scola is a turnover machine this season

    Oy.

That was the hardest game to watch all year.

I can remember nothing positive happening.
    Nothing.

Martin isn't a scorer these days, he's a shooter and a streaky shooter. The new rules has rendered him basically a jumpshooter and when that's not falling he's worthless, doesn't even try to do the back cuts and the drives for the running jumpers after a few miss shots.

I guarantee you if he goes to a team like the lakers, he would get every call including the flops.

Scola and Martin are solely here to compliment Yao and Tracy.
That plan got aborted early and now we are stuck with them.
They are not stars or allstars, just above average starters, around Top 45 players at best in this league.

is it a coincidence he's experiencing a slump at the same time as dalembert? this started after lowry complained about the direction/plays for the team.

when that happened. lowry suddenly stopped jawing at the bench, found his shot, and his play got better along with scola's. It's also when martin and dalembert's game went south.

They play like players collecting a paycheck, not players playing for a paycheck.

Say Clutch does Martin know that he is being traded again and that is why his game has gone south?

    Very interesting observation.

Probably a little bit of both...

He wasn't that good to begin with. We, including me, made the mistake overrating guys like that because we care about the team.
Once we compare him to guys like Reggie and Ray because of the off the ball movement.
Whereas those players were clutch players, Martin faded on more occasions than not and he is nowhere near as clutch.
Martin was rated as Top 42 players on ESPN and I think it's justified. He was no where near Top 3 SG. At his best 10th best SG considering D and O overall.
At his best he was giving up nearly as many points as he has been scoring.

oh come on you don't score 23.5 on accident. If maury fancied Martin and got him to Houston, it's because he saw and believed in his asset. Even his haters have to agree that there is something not right.

Trade deadline approaching. Annual KMartin slump. He's playing like garbage.

And why did God give Dalembert hands of stone? GRAB. THE. F******. BALL.

but if martin had an iguodala or gerald wallace @ the 3 helping him he could be top 3 , the guy just seems out of it , probably doesnt fit in the system right

Lol those are pretty numbers..... I already admitted I overrated him. Calling him fool's gold is little harsh but he is moving towards this direction.
    Numbers are nothing...
When was the last time he led a team to the playoffs. :p

This team has no reason at all to capture any national attention. Casual fans don't know about a single player on our roster. We. Don't. Matter.

In the meantime David Stern's strapped-for-cash NBA is selling out every away stadium Jeremy Lin plays in. They're the talk of not only the sports world but the general new world also. The Knicks are in a sense one of the lone bright spots for the NBA, in a season which should have little drama between now and the Heat winning the championship in five games against the Thunder.

We have been following the NBA enough by now. We should know better. These games are not played between the baselines. That stuff is all for show. These games are being won and lost at the box office. The Nielsen numbers. If our GM honestly believes that we can surprise everyone by fielding a "good team" on paper, then he really is naive, and we should just stop patronizing the sport until our team blows up and starts over from scratch.

Right now this is purgatory. And sometimes, it feels worse than the ninth circle of Hell. Our only consolation is that we'll one day get to wave bye to Stern as he makes his trip down there.

    Basketball reasons.

Yeah, it's got to be a trade, because we seem to have a thing for undersized power-forwards.

It has been unbearable to watch when a non shooter like Lin is scoring more than 25 a game.
A shooter of Martin's caliber is scoring zero points.

Is Martin hurt or something? Only 18 minutes and 0 points?
