Am I the only person who is confused as to why Chandler Parsons gets over twice as many times as Kevin Martin? The ball is moved through Chandler Parsons every time while Kevin Martin is left in the other corner looking like Shane Battier.

Seriously, KEvin Martin's role in this offense is like Shane Battier's towards the end of his Rockets career. Go stand in your corner and make some plays off the ball.

If that is the way the Rockets are gonna play, then Kevin Martin holds no value to the team.

I agree, with Rick's system the offense was run through him. McHale's system is more spread out and doesn't complement a leading scorer.

No post offensive game to take pressure off of the perimeter. Teams know this and load up on the perimeter so guys like Lowry and Martin are forced to take contested shots.

The biggest problem with the offense this season is that it was supposed to start with Scola in the paint and go inside-out.

Scola has been reduced to nothing but a jump shooting big, and hasnt been anywhere near as affective this year as he was last year in the paint.

Thats whats wrong with Martin. He cant score one on one or in a pick and roll game. He needs to be able to play off the ball and come off screens for open looks. Guys like Tony Allen can just chase him around the court and make him useless.

Because McHale doesn't know what the hell he's doing on offense.

He's always been able to score though and he torched the Grizzlies last year.

    28, 31, 32, 34 was what he scored.

He doesn't even GET THE BALL.

    I really don't understand this. I'm sorry.

They dont have a go to player in the post. Thats what this offense works around, and was originally thought of with Scola in mind. Another reason why Gasol is being chased after so heavily by the front office.

They cant run the corner sets without passing bigs like Hayes/Miller, and they dont have pick and roll combos as well. They have perimeter jump shooters whoh play off the ball. They DESPERATELY need a go too guy on offense.

There's no way Martin goes from being 20+ppg automatic to this without the coach being at fault. McHale is not getting the most out of his players.

obviously i'm going to get flamed, but i think they are going to trade martin, and want as little backlash from the fans as possible, and mchale is ordered by morey to bench him/make him look bad. yes, i think morey is that conniving.

just my 2 cents. not going to argue, and have fun flaming.

He's worthless if he isn't scoring and lately there have been way too many games where he hasn't been scoring.

you have to trade him, even if it's for a trade exception.
he is not even looking to shoot.
I thought the purpose for bringing in the Vipers Head coach was so we could still run the offense we've had for the past five seasons. There is a lot standing around and watching going on.

Every single time he touched the ball tonight, he just passed it off.

Courtney Lee was creating for himself a million times better than Martin tonight.

Martin is a team play scorer. Meaning, he scores in a system. He cannot and will not score one on one. You cant just give him the ball and let him go to work.

Martin needs to get out in transition, play off of ball rotation(that usually starts off of a double teaming in the post), and run off of backscreens/picks. None of those things happened tonight, and has become more and more vanishing within this offense.

I keep on saying this that the Rockets desperately need a low post scorer to take pressure off of shooters like Martin. The more and more games like tonight happen, the more I am craving that Gasol trade that the front office is pushing to get.

I was against the trade that brought him here, but he played well. I thought people were unfair to him, but at this point I don't care anymore. I'm done sticking up for him. Trade him for anything.
