I kinda like Rudy Gay better because he's black, so he looks cooler than KVH. Borderline superstar material. Not that interested in "stats", sorry.

Where are you on this whole Japan inviting Jeremy Lin to play for its Olympic team? Curious.

No, Rudy Gay is equal to Kevin Durant. Didn't you get the memo Sam?

Actually Lin's not Japanese, but rather American of Taiwanese descent.

None of these poll choices are Jeremy Lin. This poll is invalid.

he reminds me a lot of former grizzlies coach brian winters...as a player.

note the hefty scoring, the mediocre efficiency, the durability, the consistency from year to year, the strict commitment to averageness for so many straight seasons, slightly above in PER, slight below in WS/48. gay wasn't quite the passer the former grizzlies coach was, but no one's perfect.

What's with all the white Gay comparisons?

Brian Winters had nice facial hair, though.

They're basically the exact same player.

Except your sample size is for bench players over 5000 minutes and mine is for starters for 4.5 years and over 13,000 minutes.

So...they're basically the exact same sample size...if you multiplied yours by 2.75.

Let's increase Nash's sample size to match Van Horn/Gay's, shall we?

    Ooops.....

I suggest you ignore Sam and f4p. They just don't get how good Rudy Gay really is. Some things are meant to be understood by only a few of us.

Both are/were above-average, high-quality players. I do think that Van Horn needed to dominate the ball more so than Gay in order to be successful. Gay, to me, seems like he could function well as either the main star or a second option on a winning team. Plus, with Gay there is still some upside -- perhaps he has not yet reached his true potential?

So, with all that taken into consideration, I voted for Gay.

Definitely possible, but he's in his 6th season, and his production is the definition of a plateau. Big improvement in year 2...then flatline...He's actually regressed slightly from his 2nd season in terms of productivity...so there's some room there, but he's been at this stage for a long time.

Guess who else showed great improvement in his second season, and then plateaued or arguably regressed slightly for the next 4 years.

HInt - his surname rhymes with "Scan p*rn"

you made the cardinal error in this thread: objectivity. that's why up there: ^^ in that post above mine this guy samfisher is clubbing your objectivity into the ground.

he tried for a second to consider your point: by the end: HInt - his surname rhymes with "Scan p*rn"
