Rockets still interested? [rquoter]The expectation persists that the Hornets will deal center Chris Kaman sooner rather than later even though they've brought him back to the team and let him play 31 minutes in Wednesday's heavy loss to Chicago after initially sending Kaman home to wait for a trade and announcing that playing young players would be the coaching staff's priority. The league-owned Hornets initially deactivated Kaman and maintained that they were working with the center's agent, Rob Pelinka, to try to find him a new team. But the Hornets, sources said, came away from a weeklong push to consummate a deal convinced that they'd continue to see lowball offers if Kaman remained inactive. Houston and Indiana, sources say, expressed the strongest interest in the former All-Star. The Pacers are the only team in the league with the requisite salary-cap space to take in Kaman's $14 million expiring contract without sending any salary back to the league-owned Hornets. The Hornets are said to be seeking at least one good future draft pick or young player for Kaman, but getting even that much has proved difficult to land to date, presumably because of Kaman's ability to become a free agent in July.[/rquoter]
theres gonna probly be a big surprise by the trade deadline and were gonna end up getting kaman instead gasol
no player would want to play with N.O. especially how they treat Kaman. active -> inactive -> active -> inactive just to see if they can manipulate negotiation tactics (not working) i am from louisiana but a rox fan. it's a shame how pitiful the hornets are being run and how classless stern has been throughout this whole process.
I don't know what the Hornets odds are to get the #1 pick this year. But I'd unload the bank on it. Stern owes them big time now.
When Dwight leaving? Everyone wants to hold on their assets until Dwight leaves. Just leaver already Dwight so we can improve our team already. Hurry up already.
The Hornets asking price for Kaman went up/stays firm. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_ylt=AkWBsYDUce2wiUK4B.f_izW8vLYF?gid=2012021303
It wouldn't surprise me if the rest of the teams were hesitant to reward Stern for his meddling. I.e., they aren't going to give N.O. very much for anything.
Yeah. I would play hardball. The NBA needs to get rid of Kaman more than any team needs to trade for him. NBA desperately needs to get more $$ off the books and get something from Kaman before it's too late. Every few million is a few million easier to sell the franchise.
If Morey really wants Kaman, he can get him by telling New Orleans we are going to offer Gordon a max contract this offseason unless they agree to trade him to us for Thabeet, Flynn, and Hill and if they agree to the deal, we promise we won't offer Gordon the max.
Les needs to get on the phone with Stern and tell him he owes us Kaman on the cheap after costing us Gasol/Lin/lotto pick
Still wonder why N.O. isn't aggressively shopping Okafur. Getting out from contracts should be their first priority. If we could get Gordon and get rid of I-play-like-I-don't-want-to-be-here-anyway KMartin in the process.... Nah, nah, I won't dream.
I pretty sure i herd about the allstar game being in houston way before the trade mix up... they just recently confirmed it... rumors have been out about it for a while now. So it really doesn't have anything to do with it. If stern wants to apologize then he can go ahead and mark up a lottery ball for us.
