This is the most pathetic thing I've seen on the internet in quite some time. It's the equivalent of two kids in the backseat complaining about the other one looking at them. Only difference is, this is two(I think?) adults.

With Wallace, Felton, and Camby as upcoming free agents the Blazers could want some of those 09 guys or even C.Lee for more "manageable" contracts.

I wanted to highlight a few complications that I've heard about that could halt an agreement.

- As CSNNW.com reported last week, sides are “very far apart” according to a source close to negotiations. Can both side bridge that gap by tomorrow?

- The play of Gerald Wallace could have the Trail Blazers second-guessing investing a lot of funds into Batum.

- I've heard that maybe Nate McMillan isn't sold on Batum long term. When often asked why Batum doesn't have an expanded role, McMillan always responds by saying “Batum needs to concentrate on defense.”

- I heard word that Batum's camp is not happy with him being a “Bruce Bowen” spot-up shooter. They think he's not being allowed to flourish. They may not want an extension.

- There's no doubt about it, the league is high on Batum and he very well could make more as a restricted free-agent than if he was to agree to an extension now. The question would be then, do the Trail Blazers match what ever is out there?

There are definitely a host of other obstacles in the way but these are some of the primary issues/concerns I've been hearing.

The Blazers have until Jan. 25 to sign Batum to an extension, if an agreement is not reached by then, Batum will become a restricted free agent at season's end.
