And I freely own up to the fact that Obama's race made me far more enthusiastic in pulling the lever for him than if he had been a white man with the exact same platform. When a serious candidate that is a woman, latino, asian, arab, native American, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist or GLBT candidate that shares my views runs there will be extra enthusiasm behind my vote again. That this country has been presided over by Christian white men is fine and dandy. That that has been the case from our nation's founding all the way up to 2008 is appalling.
And you may be right, mark...maybe the pendulum is swinging left. I've acknowledge that possibility. Or we flat out vote Obama out of office come November with a stifling mighty majority and lead this country back to its republic roots. But I don't think conservative thought is dying. You just can't kill a good thing.
thadeus, my apologies. That quote was not referencing this forum. But, I do believe this D&D section is NOT a debate forum. Mostly people flexing muscle with no desire to listen. And I include both parties in that statement.
all those black people who voted for al sharpton must have had a bunch of kids then put them in a magic machine to make them eligible four years later to insure a black president
Nobody is playing the race card but you. You're the one who claimed he didn't trust blacks in politics. The fact that you are trying to make exceptions means that you don't even really believe your statement. As for your attempted exception... who are you to speak for the "the black community"?
Sounds like Jackson was joking, but bigtexx and the conservative site that sent him the interview to spread around didn't get it. Talk about Obama stopping the speech and calling out the person who yelled at him was pretty funny. Imagine Obama jumping down from the podium and wading into the seated Congressman.
