I don't entirely agree with that. Still, years ago KTRH had a reporter in Austin named Darrell Azar. He was pathetic. Every left wing P.I.G. with a fax machine would send him a press release and he would just run with it. His liberal bias was so incredibly obvious.

 

Sounds like he was doing a Yoeman's duty for mankind. We need more like him.

 

I used to be a diehard fanatic listener of KTRH years ago. When Clear Channel ended up owning them (News Radio) and KPRC (Talk Radio), that was the beginning of the end. They started moving the right-wing radio kooks to KTRH because it was the flagship station and I quit listening. I thought KPRC was a garbage dump and Clear Channel moved the garbage to KTRH.

 

Lefties are so cute and naive! 740 Am radio is thriving and has never been better. The station overall rating is going through the roof, you can not argue with success. If you lefties somehow take over the station and turn it into Air America, it will die a painful death within weeks.

For those who wish to leave Texas, let me wish you a bon voyage and please do not come crawling back to my beloved state!

 

Hate to see another news station devolving into the paranoid, hate filled political dreck that is current talk radio. But it's a money maker, as that particular audience loves to mindlessly swallow and run about the muck that gets shoveled out so they can feel better that someone else agrees with their foolishness. You can't really blame the bean counters for understanding that they can pull $$$ from doom and gloom.

I always found Prichard and Hughes to be particularly useful during bad weather situations while on the road. Especially during hurricanes. Lots of good info. A shame.

 

One time, I thought the Astros were playing on 740 while I was driving to lunch. I turned it on and actually heard Limbaugh for 6 words. I have been forever scarred with the mark of stupidity.

 

Is there a group I can join that is against liberals and conservatives? Because listening to these moran sissy fights about material they have no understanding of or have been manipulated to believe for the last couple decades is getting freaking old.

 

You "righties" can have your ancient technology and continue your happy fun time circle jerk on money. Rupert Murdoch is laughing all the way to the bank as he has a mindless, uneducated, herpy derpy cash cow.

Conservative TV/Radio has taken a giant dump on real journalism. I guess those days are gone. But hey, you can worship the almighty dollar.

 

Funny, I thought the dump taking was by Dan Rather, Janet Cooke, Jayson Blair, etc.

Popularity is not an argument as to the quality of something.

One of the many mistakes made by rabid free-marketeers.

"If it makes money, it must be good! If it doesn't make money, it must be bad!"

 

The people who listen to talk radio are the people who commute every day -- the suburbanites, who vote overwhelmingly conservative. The poors and colorful folks (largest base of the liberal voting pool) all live within the beltway for the most part, limiting drive time and plus they also don't have money to buy things, therefore aren't attractive listeners.

This is fairly accurate and even moreso when you consider that everything else on radio: sports and pop music, would already get all of the younger and more diverse listeners anyways. This could change if the FCC didn't exist and broadcast stations could air Stern or anything else that more finely appealed to specific demographic sub-types.

 

Been listening from day 1 when they started there. Glad they are back.
