I found it funny, too. I loved his speech, as did my kids, who themselves play instruments.

Honoring Whitney Houston over arguably one of the most brilliant minds of the century in recently deceased Milton Babbitt means your doing it wrong. That is all....

Understood. I guess I was more just making a statement about our cultural well being in general. Don't want to be downer, but it would be a lie to say it doesn't disturb me.

no problem, it just is what it is, unfortunately not everyone who contributes to this society even greatly get their respect. i understand where you're coming from. one thing i can say about whitney though is that she truly had a voice that separated her from even the greatest. is it pop music, sure, but she was truly blessed

This show was the first time in a VERY LONG time I watched more than 1/8th of the show. Though there were some nauseating moments, it really was NOT the "industry devil" I figured it to be.

Overall the show was how I always remembered it to be - some decent live performances, some sincere attempts at music (can you really hate on Glen Campbell battling Alzheimers but he still gave it his best to entertain? )

While the awards part is so CONTRIVED and canned. I just dont think Adele is THAT good

Bruno Mars had a very good performance. I haven't seen much of him previously, but he's a natural entertainer.

Funny part of Nicki Minaj was at the commercial break before she performed, the narrator voice said Nicki Minaj coming up with a performance "you'll be SURE to remember". And it ended up being what you describe as NOT memorable
