Match your magazine article against an entire century's worth of educational, professional and residential infrastructure built with the near exclusive purpose of excluding or eluding blacks. Or just weigh it against the fact that there will probably never be another black president in either of our lifetimes, whereas white women will eventually get elected a quarter to a third of time (people trust their daughters and wives over their janitors).

So, you believe that there are a number of people reading the posts in this forum, and that they can be swayed by convincing arguments in one direction or the other? It sorta sounds like you're saying that this "silent majority" reading the D&D waiting for the people who post here to "win their soul" - is winning someone's soul the same thing as providing a rational argument for a particular perspective?
As I've said before most Republicans are not racist but most racists are Republicans. This is not a bug; it's a feature. Nixon courted racist votes with his 'southern strategy' and there have been dog whistles ever since from Atwater's Willie Horton ads to John McCain's "black baby" to the extraordinarily out and proud examples from within the ranks in chain emails, Tea Party signs, on Limbaugh's program and even in Gingrich's comment that one would have to have been raised in Kenya to understand what Obama's really up to.
