I didn't vote for him but this is something I completely understand. Blacks are ignored by both parties. The GOP doesn't even attempt to do anything to get their votes, aside from that racist billboard they had up in Houston a while ago ha, and Democrats know they are already getting 95% of the black vote without doing anything. Of course Obama appeared to be someone who would change that. Any group that feels under represented would do the same.

If he had not been black and had been the exact same politically (nondescript) I probably would not have voted that year.

Anyone that wasn't insane voted for Obama, or didn't vote. Sarah Palin could have legitimately ended America If elected. Give me the reasoned intellect of Obama every single day, especially over a the dogmatic republican leaders of today. I am prepared to vote Republican If a well educated individual ever runs for office.
