You're on a Rockets board, if you dont want to read about fans supporting their team, then maybe you should leave. Fans stick with their team for the season. I've never heard of real fans who stop supporting the team just because their season is predictable. You stick by them and ride it out. 62-20 or 20-62, i'll be here trying to discuss the team, not taking jabs at them like i'm mad at the world. You dissed the team for acquiring Lin and now you diss them for missing out on Lin. As much as you hate on Morey now, if he's fired and the next GM sucks, you'll rush to call out Houston for firing Morey. You're no Rockets fan, you're a closet fan of another team or teams. Nothing wrong with that, but it's time to come out of the closet.
Maybe getting rid of Lin was a tactic of Morey to show other teams he is fallible, now they will be more willing to trade with him and think they can take advantage of him at the negotiating table instead of being scared of his GMing prowess
GMs aren't stupid. We need an all-star/closer and no one is giving one up without an offer built around Lowry. If we kept Lin and he is really this great, then he might have made Lowry expendable....depending on his market value.
It's a great feel-good story for the Big Apple and other band wagoners but I can't wait to see the reaction when the league catches up to this guy and he is playing back down to his level. Some folks around here need to wipe their chins.
Maybe Morey regrets this decision based on what the media & fans expect him to say publicly, but he probably thought (correctly at the time) that Flynn's expiring contract would be worth more to the organization than a 3rd-string PG who may never get much PT except for garbage time, or the fact he would still have to pay Flynn's contract in exchange for cutting him. It was still the right thing to do from a business perspective. S*** happens and you move on.
You have reading comprehension issues. I'm not even concerned about Lin, which I already said. I took issue with the statement that the Rockets have a "solid track record of acquiring talent that others overlook" under Morey. Then again, you're just probably looking for an opportunity to rant after others called you out for being a homer. Your homerism has always been at a dangerous level, which seems to clouds your judgment. Funny how you didn't disagree with any of my statements about the Rockets being on the mediocrity treadmill and being either a first round victim in the playoffs or getting another low lottery pick. That's objective analysis from a poster who's been a Rockets fan longer than you and who's been on this board posting longer than you. If you don't like my posts, put me on ignore or don't read or respond to them. Under you logic, all the Rockets' fans on this website who don't post in the GARM on a regular basis are not true Rockets' fan. All this coming from a guy who didn't even know what game the kiss of death occurred in, smh lol, just smh.
No, Kwame, my penis is bigger than yours I wasn't going to keep responding, but considering i saw the kiss of death game live and that moment is forever etched in my memory, I'd like to know what you're referring to. It's obviously one of my posts, but I can't imagine I didnt know that, unless i made a silly mistake.
Jeremy Lin: NBA's new star waited for opportunity Adrian Wojnarowski Yahoo! NBA http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Am8nCeUStcpHf.Bq_nHsazS8vLYF?slug=aw-wojnarowski_jeremy_lin_knicks_rockets_nba_021412 Excerpt: That's a big excerpt, but there's more at the link, with comments from McHale too: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Am8nCeUStcpHf.Bq_nHsazS8vLYF?slug=aw-wojnarowski_jeremy_lin_knicks_rockets_nba_021412 Even Wojnarowski is happy to give the Rockets and Warriors some credit for picking him up at all. It's a nice read.
Sure Rockets and Warriors got the opportunity to see him up close. But unlike what the article states "27 teams passed on him", Boston put in a claim for waivers and both Lakers and Mavs offered him a contract after the summer league. I'm sure other teams showed some interest. Not like Morey deserves that much credit.

...meh.... Houston's attendance numbers have been bad... and I don't think it was that good during the Yao Era either.... Madison Square Gardlin..... is a special place with more potential..... it is the perfect stage for the perfect worker..... Alexander can't do nothing......
If he keeps at his pace, Lin is going to be more popular than Yao. He plays a glamorous position, importantly, he is born in US, but colored yellow and speaks fluent english. Definitely playing for the Knicks is more polarizing than with the Rockets, but if he had been doing this with the Rockets, he would make the Rockets better than Yao-level. The problem with Yao is he favors China over US. With Lin, his loyalty is USA.
Those....ellipses...are...distracting...... Even if Lin were to play in Houston, the media wouldn't have gone as wild over it as they do with him in NY. It's just the perfect opportunity for him. People should get over it and keep following the team. Morey is doing the right thing in admitting he made a mistake. None of the other posters on this board except for a few would have picked up Lin, except for that one guy who made a thread about him 2 years ago. Who knows Lin could always sign with Houston down the road if Yao is such a big mentor to him. Life goes on.
You can track that thread down from 2 yrs ago.... I said back then that I was very glad an Asian guard is playing in this league. No matter where.
I heard that Yao was pretty much a d*ick to his fans especially little kids who wanted his autograph...
Yao had problems with English... but he was way cooler, maybe not outgoing....playing WoW a lot, but definitely had a funnier character than JLin, joked more. Don't know whom Jeremy will play for but I don't think he will let his fans down in the Middle Kingdom and Taiwan.
