hhe took a lot of bail out shots. He wasnt looking for his in the second half. The kid is only going to get better.
Yeah, I also wish to find a way to prove that he is not good so to explain why Morey gave him away, but to be honest though you gotta remember that he is playing 39 min tonight, after playing 39 min the night before. You could tell that he was scoring very effectively in the first half (when still has some energy) and going totally out of gas in the second. Even then, I think he gave out 3 assists in the last 3 minutes (including 2 3s to Novak) helping NYK going from 92 - 94 to 98 - 98. And then he hit one free throw at the end to give NYK the win, at Minny's home court. I think that is decent performance to say at least....
It's not that those aren't LeBron numbers... the numbers he put up tonight are downright "hurting your team with your chucking and turnovers" numbers. I'll grant that he was probably pretty tired.
A team like the Spurs are even better at finding overlooked talent, and yet its trivial to show examples of talented players they passed over in the draft or mistakenly traded away for little compensation. But that's just cherry-picking. You have to look at the entire record, and that's what my comment was based on.
and Lowry / Brooks / Alston didn't do the same? Lin is a top 10 PG right now.. This is his 2nd year.. really his first year.. These are his first real minutes ever.. He's only played garbage time in Golden State.
Jeremy was mediocre. It will be interesting to see his next few games. When he is not the first option, How will he react?
I agree Morey has his faults and sometimes allows emotions to cloud his wise analytical skills. Jeremy Lin didn't get a slot and Rick Adelman didn't get retained. Some decisions smack of arbitrariness so the front office should institute some reforms so it doesn't come back to bite them again.
I wonder If Terrence could average 25-10-10 in a similar situation. Aka, first option pick and roll every single time down the floor.
There are a lot of players that could put up big numbers if entrusted in that situation. But their team probably wouldn't win. Have to credit all the Knicks players for rallying around this kid and significantly increasing their level of play. Lin says they're winning as a team, and he's right.
as a 3rd option the team does not need him to score more than 15-20 points a game. Melo and Amare will command all the attention.. leaving Lin to score.
Yeah, I wonder why there aren't many PGs in the league doing 25-10-10. And if those team would just give Terrence Williams a chance, they'd see what so many coaches and fans didn't see. /sarcasm
Lin is a winner, not just a fantasy player. He couldn't care less about his stats, and that's what makes him so great. Look beyond the boxscores people. 5-0.
If by "big numbers" you agree with knote32's 25-10-10, I totally disagree. Steve Francis in his heyday was 20-6-6 and he was coined Franchise and was believed to be one of the most talented PGs in a long time. The "players who could have done that in the same situation are a dime a dozen" argument just don't have factual support. If it's that easy, why aren't there more players doing that? It's like saying, Kobe's 81 points aren't much because a lot of people could have done it against Toronto. Or like saying, the Rockets 22-game streak wasn't much because they were playing a soft stretch of the schedule.
Wasn't agree necessarily with 25-10-10. But 25-5-5? Sure. But they probably wouldn't be very efficient, and the team probably wouldn't win.
