Yeah, Novak playing Hayes-like defense. I've seen everything now.

I watched the 4th quarter & it was my 1st time to see Lin as a Knick. My thoughts were simular to yours. Lin looks good running that team, but Amare & Melo were missing. It'll be interesting to see how lin'll mesh with those 2. Also was that actually defense I saw a D'Angelo Knicks team playing?

Chandler, Jeffries and Lin are good defensive players. It won't be as good when Melo and Amare are back on the starting lineup.

I agree with people saying that it will be a very different scene when Melo comes back. Amare knows how to play with a good PG. Melo, not so.

in many ways, the Knicks match up ok against the Lakers.

    1. The twin tower are negated by the Knick's defensive twin towers (net score produced by both twin towers = 0)
    2. Lin/Fisher and Bryant/guard is a tossup. Though Fisher is so bad Lin blew Bryant's production out of the water.
    3. Lakers bench the worst in the league. Knicks bench nearly as bad.

Novak's defense looked greatly improved from his time as a Rocket.

Hubie Brown called it during the game, but Novak made this great box out so that his teammate could get the rebound. Just pushed his player right out of the paint. IIRC Novak struggled with that kind of play when he was in Houston.

I'm sorry I had to call this out. Lin is NOT better than Kyle Lowry. I love what Lin is doing in New York but he's not on Kyles level yet. I hate to say it but when melo comes back Lin will come back down to earth.

i think he's definitely a starter and plays smart. do i think he's chris paul? no but i think any of these games were flukes. how many games do u need to consider him legit? most importantly, he puts up decent numbers while winning with scrubs and TC.

it's not about if he can outshoot, outdunk, or outmuscle anyone. he gets everyone to play to their strengths and plays within his limitations. like stockton, nash, or kidd. and NO im not saying he is as good as them but he plays coolheaded and smart. thats the wow factor. NY can be dam good when Melo n Amare return if they let him lead.

If you can't see Blake shot 1-8 from 3 pts line, most of them open shots, and he shied away from even more of them at the end of the game, I can't help. NYK never hesitated to double Kobe in the entire 2nd half.

How did Melo do with Billups? I never watched the Knicks, last year or the Nuggets.

I remember on the nuggets melo and billups fit well together, billups would usually only go for a bucket when open, on a pull up 3 or a open drive, never tried to create much and melo was at his peak doing what he does.

So do you think he is good enough to continue to drop the staggering numbers he's dropping, like 25 a night on 55% or whatever he is dropping. Thats fluky. He ain't that good.

well we see he can get in the lane at will and actually finish like tony parker and he is smart enough not shooting contested jumpers. so i would say the high FG% is not fluky rather a result of his shot selection. now whether he can sustain the scoring production depends on whether defense adjusts to him and whether he remains the #1 option in their offense. if the defense keeps the single coverage on him and he still has the green light to fire away even after melo and stat are back, then i don't see why not he can't keep that production.

Have you watched his games? yes or no?

The last game against LA, he played a totally different type of game from his first 3 games. The first games were dribble drive in the middle of the paint. The LA games was him coming up the baseline and stop and pop in midrange. It's not fluky, you sound like a noob.

And I'm not even a Lin fan. I just seen his games.

The reason why he's shooting 55% is every time he gets in the lane he draws a foul. That's player efficiency. The reason it's not a fluke is because his PER, WS, AST% PP38 etc have always been that high. The only thing that fluctuates is his turnovers.

Quit being all Jason Whitlock and butthurt. No matter who good Jeremy Lin does there'll still be plenty of Asian women for you don't sweat it.

    Dude, even Nash wasn't shooting 55% under Mike D. It's abnormal/fluky.
