There is still hope. We will see what NY is about after this stretch of games: 2/19 - Dal 2/20 - NJ 2/22 - ATL 2/23 - @ Mia 2/29 - Cavs 3/4 - @ Bos 3/6 - @ Dal 3/7 - @ SA 3/9 - @ Mil 3/11 - Phi 3/12 - @ Chi 3/14 - Por 3/16 - Ind 3/17 - @ Ind
Good point. I didn't even look at their upcoming schedule. I can only see them winning at most 5 or 6 games but if they do end up with a winning record coming out of this stretch, then we should start worrying.
It's not all going to be on Lin's shoulders though. Stoudemire will come back soon, and Carmelo will be back sometime too. Though right now, Lin's Knicks are better than the Amar-Melo Knicks.
It's already dropped 2-3 spots. They are 1/2 game behind the Bucks. They have been struggling with the loss of Bogut. He is not expected back for 2 more months. The Knicks just have to lose one less game than the Bucks to make it in.
Lin is hot now, but do we honestly believe no one will figure out how to contain the kid or that he won't hit a bad streak sooner or later?
Yes, they'll figure out how to contain him. And then he'll figure out how to break out again. He's an NBA baller and he's only going to get better. The only real question about Lin at this point is how much money is thrown at him this summer and by who.
Not going to say teams will not figure him out. The question is Lin is a smart player. He can adjust to anything thrown at him. Teams can contain him to an extent, but cannot stop him totally.
The Knicks also had a breeze schedule when the lead dropped. The schedule gets much tougher. That Bogut injury does hurt though.
Melo will dominate the ball back. Perhaps this was what Melo needed to wake up and realize he has to play with his team. This can be a scary team, not mention the Dantoni system. I say you sit on the pick till deadline then make the gamble.
Melo is not stupid. he will adjust just like everyone else on the team is adjusting. The problems with two bona fide superstars and a hardworking center is that all three of those players will be expecting touches - alot of them. And Lin will have a tough time satisfying all three. There will be games when one or two of these players feel as if they were missed, or didn't get enough touches.....and they might complain, and that's when the problems start to occur.
let's cheer for Lin, the good, hard working guy and pray to god that the New York Knicks begin to lose games in rows! GOD, HELP US!!
If the Knicks make the playoffs and Lin keeps playing like this, fire Morey because then he has wasted 2 draft picks in one of the deepest drafts in recent years.
The team that will go after him next year is going to be the Warriors, Lakers and Mavericks. Maybe we can get a Yao discount for Lin. C'mon Baron Davis, you are our secret weapon (Jacoby Jones).
