Good to see Kyle getting some attention. If he can take a couple more steps this year and next, he will be a bonafide all-star.
Including Dirk just proves that this is definitely a popularity contest. Check out his averages this season and the mavs have been mediocre so far as well. The fans which usually picks the popular ones, didn't even vote for Dirk, i wonder why. I am not bitter because our very own Lowry wasn't selected. There were other players who deserved it more than Nowitzki. Pau Gasol, Millsap, Al Jeff to name a few.
I was wondering that as well. Is that guy a credible source or is he just saying what he personally thinks?
Lowry is averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the 4th best team of the toughest division and conference. Not far fetched to think he receives considerations. Whether he has a solid chance of winning it is a different story.
Even though Dirk has been Meh this year, he deserved it. He worked his ass off harder than anyone to get that trophy, and never complained or ran to another team. I understand he lost some mojo going into this season, but **** look at what Cuban did to the team also.
Oh yea no doubt at all. I believe he should be considered heavily. If he keeps up that pace he should be in the final voting for it. However, the question is, will he continue to play like this all year? If he could get his scoring up to close to 20 points per game with 6 boards and 8-9 assist a game and we have home field advantage in the playoffs. He should definitely win it.
Let' be real here, our #7 no matter how good he plays, will not win MVP. But he will however, be in the running for MVP if he continues to play like he has or improves a little. Which should give him enough popularity to make All-Star next year in Houston. Provided he is consistent of course.
With the All Star game being in Houston next season, we better have someone there representing us. Two would be better.
In what universe does steve nash not deserve to be an all star, and Tony parker is labeled as "one of the old guys"?
Exactly my point that Lowry should be in and Nash out because of age. The guy has no place in an all-star game. I disagree with Parker, guy is not that old and keeping the Spurs alive.
2007 in Vegas 2005 All-Star game in Denver (Melo's second year, was barely averaging over 20 PPG and not an All-Star). 2003 in Atlanta 2001 in Washington 2000 in Oakland
So Nash scores more, shoots better, and dishes out more assists than Lowry but shouldn't be get the nod for the all star team because you think he's too old? Weak.
He was mentioned (in next five) on Race to the MVP (whatever that means)! http://www.nba.com/mvp-ladder/2011-12/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1
