With Lin's emergence, Knicks games added in Asia Posted Feb 9 2012 5:11PM - Updated Feb 9 2012 6:09PM NEW YORK (AP) -- Jeremy Lin is making the Knicks must-see TV in Asia. The NBA says Thursday its Asian TV partners have added Knicks games to their broadcast schedules following the emergence of Lin, the first American-born NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent. Sina in China will show Friday's game against the Lakers, while stations in Taiwan will televise Knicks games this month against Toronto, Sacramento, New Orleans, New Jersey and Atlanta. ESPN Philippines also added the Feb. 17 Hornets game in New York. Lin, an undrafted guard from Harvard, has led the Knicks to three straight wins, scoring more than 20 points in each game. Ironically, his performances are missed by many in New York. A dispute between Time Warner Cable and MSG Network is keeping the Knicks off that system. MSG said its ratings are up 36 percent over its season average in the two games since Lin moved into the starting lineup on Monday.
Daryl Morey says the Rockets should have kept Lin over Adrien also. He waived the mistake for Greg Smith. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=215102
It's not like Adrien is a total scrub You know that we won't have played Lin..... Take a good look at Flynn and how many minute he has played for us... then sub him with Lin
At least, Dragic or Lin could be traded. Rockets are had many forwards on the team. He was behind Parsons, Scola, Hill, Patterson. Rockets didn't need another 6'6.5" undersized tweener Forward. Adrien didn't even have trade value, so they waived him. He will never play for the Rockets, this season. Rockets are all locked up with guaranteed contracts. If you have 3 rotation players, you don't waive one of them for an d-league scrub. You keep him and trade him later. The scrub can't be traded at all. It's like choosing Sam Bowie over Jordan, because you got Drexler. Talent over crap, wins every time.
Why comparing orange to apple when they are 2 different commodities? Honestly I don't think Lin is that far behind to Dragon when talking about playing time.
Yeah... don't you think if anyone values our 09ers alumnis , that they wouldn't already be gone by now? We can't really get rid of them ...we can only hope to use them as fillers
I didn't see him turning it on as a backup......... Some guys just don't play as well as backups... they have to start I reserve my judgement there because Lin hasn't played major backup minutes so far As a starter for the Knicks in the East he is good, but the West is more competitive still
I agree that Lin is playing better as a starter with plenty of playing time. But I do have a hard time to buy in the "West is strong and the East is weak" thing. Remember this is the NBA, any team can beat any other teams on a given night. You jsut cannot use this reason to support your argument.
If anybody valued Dwight Howard, don't you think he would be gone by now? The trade deadline is not until March 15th. Most teams stay pat until the last minute. It doesn't matter if the player is perennial all-star or just a backup. Even Morey says they should have kept Lin. He waived Adrien, because he sucked.
you guys are ridiculous with this "we should have kept lin" "we should have drafted deandre" "we should have not traded for battier" rox knew lin was a decent player with the chance to stick to a nba roster. here however, he would have been stuck behind lowry and dragic. he would have never gotten the green light as he did in NY and there would be no linsanity. we did what was best for our team and released lin so that he could get opportunity elsewhere. so please, no more we shoulda coulda woulda and just be happy for a genuinely good young man who deserves his limelight.
I am Asian myself and I don't want to ride his coattail. Guys go through slumps and then play well...... Just enjoy the ride...... New York is the better fit for him....... I mean San Francisco is where his old fan base is, but he couldn't make it there. Sometimes the lifetime journey has to start from somewhere, we helped him get to New York, we helped...actually.
LOL... The Rockets has some headscratching moves lately. How much better can Smith be better than Adrien? I don't know, but I am really worry about Smith's work ethic as some people claimed here. As far as I know, Adrien is a hard worker.
Morey agrees..... You just don't give guys credit..... Greg Smith has more potential..... Adrien has a tad more experience with the Pros. Because Greg Smith happens to be physically more gifted, does not mean the other player sucks Morey is a human being, he makes mistakes, but the mistakes are calculated...... Of course, he would say we could have kept Lin, but he didn't say we would hand him major minutes Lin without major minutes is still worthless. Dleague minutes worthless for him.
Ok. Be there when Lin is actually going through a slump........and he is not a Rocket anymore.... you can't change that Morey is still the GM and I am sticking with his decisions.
