I'm not even sure how this is a story. If I were in Morey's shoes, I would have picked the signing of Dalembert over Lin too. We didn't need more PGs. It's just unfortunate that Lin turned out to be good. It's just like Portland's situation when they drafted Oden over Durant. Sure, they look back on it and kick themselves now, but they HAD Brandon Roy at the time, and they were looking for a player at the 5. Oden was pretty beast in Ohio State, so he would have been the best choice. Unfortunately it didn't turn out so well. Point is, both decisions in my examples would have helped the team more at the time of the decision; it is just unfortunate that both decisions were the wrong ones. Oh well. Life goes on.
Actually no. Thabeet was a target. Hill was the prize, he didnt accept the deal until Hill was on the table.
You're kidding me right? We had to take thabeet to get the Griz's 1st round pick. Hill was just so we could squeeze everything we could from the Knicks.
Morey did Lin a favor. Lin ended up in the right place at the right time. The biggest media city in the world and a city that loves winners. It's really the ideal situation for him. He's really for real btw, no way you put up those numbers three games in a row by chance.

They had plenty of room for Dalembert. There were only 13 guaranteed contracts. You can have up to 15 players. Lin, Adrien and Smith were non-guaranteed. Morey waived Smith and Lin.
I am more frustrated that Lin is helping the Knicks than I am that he's not on our team. To me, it's a credit to Morey that he picked him up when others passed... he picked up Lin because he saw something in him when he already had three point guards on the roster. He must have felt he could make a deal with one of the other three. It's a shame. I root for Lin's career, but hope he falls flat soon. It's about the draft for me and we need that pick to be solid.
As great as Lin is, he may very well be a flash in the pan. Looking at the pace of the Knicks pre-Lin, it may be a good thing; Knicks lose too many more games and they have real potenital to make their pick fall under their protection terms.

If the Gasol trade goes through, I'm sure Lin makes the team and Rockets save cap space in the process...
Not only we ended up losing a good young player with massive marketing potential, we also might have lost a lottery pick for the upcoming draft... If I was Les I would have given him a ear full alrdy.
