as some point out here, it is extremely easy to neutralize him. why didn't john wall and the wizards do that last nite then? john wall and deron williams are good players - btw. also - if someone were to do some statistical analysis, i think they would find that players tend to improve after their first 2 starts - not get worse due game fim, etc. can he keep this up? i don't think so but i never thought he would do this well either. is there subtle racism here? yeah i think that if he was black, people wouldn't be saying he's a lucky scrub, etc. but that "racism" goes both ways. no way he would be this popular (with non-Asians as well), if he were not Asian. Being Asian also helps him as it keeps expectations extremely low.
this board would be jizzing over Lowry (but not on ) if he put up 25 and 7 against Deron Williams. I think there is some bitterness about the draft pick and waiving him (which in hindsight was a big mistake). I'm not gonna fault management too much for waiving him since every team in the league could have had him. It is indeed a weird system when the more expensive option (Flynn and his guaranteed millions) is also the "smarter" option.
What the **** about racism or hate? He's an undrafted player, who played 3 good games an a great system for a PG against bad defensive teams (the worst, 5th worst and 9th worst team) It should be interesting to see him go up against Fisher who he should be able to get by, but can he finish against the big men of the Lakers? It'll be the first solid defensive team that he will be facing.
I'd be surprise if the Knicks can pull a win at home against the Lakers.. It's gonna be tough though, might be a blow out win for the Lakers....
This is dumb. He's been outplaying every Knick point guard @ practice. Plus, he is not playing out of his mind, he's actually playing within his abilities, within the system, while making people around him better. The guy simply knows how to execute D'Antoni's system better than anyone on that team. As far as All-Star goes, if he can somewhat sustain his performance, I don't see why not. He has outplayed two all-star worthy point guards. And he plays for a huge market and obviously have a huge following outside his regional market.
funny i saw my asian friends posting videos of Lin last night and how the Rockets blew it big time by letting him go! lol...Asian?
Excellent reading comprehension ability. The OP is implying Lin will be an All-Star not because of his ability (he may be good enough to really be one at that time. But it is another topic). He is saying Lin will be an All-Star because of the Asian voting population.
Well, not saying that's not a major weakness. But Rondo is an elite PG in this league. Andre Miller was an elite PG in this league. He's got skills to be an above average PG in this league, even if he doesn't improve shooting.
Aha Aha, don't jump the gun. It's too early to say he is an elite guard, but it is also too early to say he is not.
What else do the Knicks have at point ? Actually he IS playing out of his mind. Lin's abilities make him taylor made for D'Antoni's offense....solid PnR guy. That said, like someone else mentioned he's played against crappy teams (w/Melo and STAT out) and hasn't taken a turn through the League. I can't say I'm rooting for him right now as the Rockets own the Knick's pick, but it's a great story and I want him to have a good career. I'm just saying that he'll come back down to earth. The Knicks are well aware of this ....and have a lot riding on making/not making the playoffs this year. I'd wager they make a deal for another PG by the deadline.
Fast forward 1 year to Houston 2013 All-Star Game. Jeremy Lin is now leaving the locker room following his 45 point, 15 reb, 37 assist MVP performance. Madness ensues:
Wow, You are a die hard Lin fan. If your screen name did not say you are Canadian, dumbass like GlenRice and the other simple-minded ones would be saying you must be from China. ROFL.
Lin is doing what he's always been doing: -making heady plays -playng under control -taking what the defense gives him -playing great team ball -making players around him better. It's not like he is on some anamolous shooting streak. The only anamoly as a pro is that he's getting playing time. Teams will adjust, but from the interviews I've seen and read, the Knicks are fully preparing him for what's to come ahead. I'm going to bank on Lin's BB IQ, humbleness, and hunger, to adapt quickly. The thing the Knicks need to try to do is convince Melo to play somewhat within the offense when he returns. This is their biggest achilles heel, not their point guard play anymore. To counter this, tho, as a point guard, Lin will get to decide who get's the rock and when. Will he defer to Melo's selfishness? Stay tuned.
