Weak selection, def not worth forking $80/yr or roughly $6.66/month (666 OH NO  ).

Netflix for the win for being around the same price for instant streaming ($7.99) and for having a much larger collection, accessible via PS3, etc.

Also sucks that its not included in student prime memberships.

keep in mind that Prime also gets you free 2 day shipping from Amazon, which isn't a bad perk consider how much stuff I buy from there nowadays (currently on free student Prime).

Also, don't think it's been mentioned, but the movie/tv streaming works for Android devices apparently (apple fans SOL).

Before I wouldn't consider Prime... now, at least it'll make me think about it once my free Prime expires.

This also doesn't apply to prime users who split accounts (unless you're the primary holder).

At least android folks with flash could probably run this.

Exactly. This is a perk for people who already have Prime shipping. It's not them saying "for $79, here are movies you can watch on your PC".

...Or for people who are on the fence about Prime. I think it's a tremendous service. I usually check Amazon first for many of the things I need to purchase, and usually it is the same or cheaper price than the store. No tax and saves me a trip. I've also used their $3.99 overnight several times.

    From the Amazon.com front page:

    "Dear Customers,

We just wrapped up another deal — this time bringing in content from MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, TV Land, and VH1 — to add 2,000 new titles to Prime Instant Video. Together with the existing movies and shows from CBS, Fox, Disney-ABC, PBS, NBC, Sony, and Warner Bros., we now offer, at no additional cost, unlimited instant streaming of more than 15,000 titles.

We’re adding something for the family with Nickelodeon favorites like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Dora the Explorer, iCarly, and Yo Gabba Gabba. We’re adding comedy with titles like Chappelle’s Show, The Sarah Silverman Program, Strangers with Candy, and Hot in Cleveland. And we’re adding reality TV with several past seasons of The Real World, Basketball Wives, and Jersey Shore."

I wish they would improve their online movie player to have full HD with 5.1 surround, subtitles, and to integrate that into Android, Xbox 360, and PS3 like Netflix has.

This is their big problem - regardless of the quality of the content, this isn't going to work unless they make it easy to access.
