White confirms Silva-Sonnen 2 Despite Chael Sonnen's repeatedly stated belief to the contrary, UFC president Dana White assured media gathered at UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit post-fight press conference that the fight has been agreed to verbally by both men. UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was in Las Vegas for the festivities, prompting media at the presser to question the status of the Silva-Sonnen rematch. "It's on," he said. Fightline link
If had one wish...I would be tempted to wish for Anderson Silva to kick Chael Sonnen's head clean the **** off.
Sonnen is like Mayweather a very smart businessman, promoter and marketer. People just love to hate him. I am more excited about this fight than the Mayweater Cotto Pacquiao Bradley fights. Should be interesting
I think Sonnen will take this one, although I have heard that maybe Silva was injured in their last fight and is way more healthy now but I dunno how legit that is. However my gut says Silva is two years older (will be 37 when they fight) and while he might not be so caught of guard by Chael's striking he still is no match for his wrestling. On the other hand I'm probably an idiot for going against Silva.

Sonnen, juice the hell up or not, you're gonna get whooped by a fully recovered Spider. Jon Jones is a big dude fighting "small" fighters. He should have moved to heavyweight and be smashed by the likes of JDS and Overeem. Let's see how he fairs with them.
Sonnen got the UD against Bisping, but was unimpressive in doing so. If he comes out sloppy against Anderson in front of tens of thousands of rabid Brazilians, he'll be put to sleep early. Anderson's the most technically gifted striker in the promotion, and if you make one misstep or leave yourself vulnerable in any way, shape, or form, he'll take your head off. But, that being said, Sonnen's an Olympic-level wrestler and his double-leg takedown is damn near impossible to thwart. His most recent performance was very underwhelming, so it'll be interesting to see how he fares this go-around sans PEDs. He did catch Anderson w/ a couple of solid strikes in their first bout, but if his striking/clinch game looks anything like it did against Bisping, he'll get dismantled. Hell, Bisping out-grappled Sonnen, a world-class grappler, against the fence during periods of that fight. I think Anderson wins via TKO. He'll finish him w/ his legs, either a punishing knee as Chael darts in for a TD or a high kick... both followed by ground-and-pound and Herb Dean saving Sonnen's life.
By the way, Anderson's been training w/ Amazonian natives. Dude's one bad motherf---er... Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler http://revistatrip.uol.com.br/so-no-site/reportagens/anderson-silva-no-xingu.html#1 Translation:
Dude, looks like he's ready to move up and fight Jones. It will be interesting to see how Chael does without steroids -- i'm thinking he will be quickly KO'd (within 2 rounds).
Yeah, Anderson's already 36 and Bones has hinted that he'd eventually like to move up to HW, so I think the window for that fight closes at the end of this year. If Bones takes care of Evans in April and Silva's victorious in June, the fans are going to push for Dana and the suits to make it happen anytime from Oct-Dec. But, the real question is whether or not Anderson would agree to that fight. Anderson apparently rejected the rematch w/ Sonnen on 3-4 separate occasions (til Dana forced it down his throat), as he's very concerned about protecting his legacy and going out on top. If he beats Sonnen, I really wouldn't be surprised to see him retire... after delivering in the biggest rematch in the history of the sport/likely record-shattering PPV, in his native country, w/ the belt around his waist. There will be no denying he's the GOAT, and he'll become the face of MMA, which is absolutely exploding in Brazil. But damn, that Anderson-Bones fight would be sick. Hard to even predict what would go down between those two. You like Bones or Silva in that fight?
