That's another part of it. Yeah, I can find you a more expensive beer, that's produced in smaller quantities, in the same style/vein that is better. But that's kind of like saying Acura doesn't make a "great" car simply because Ferrari's exist.

with the exception of stuff like Stone or Dogfish Head, a lot of these microbrews price their beers about the same. St. Arnold isn't any cheaper than Avery, Left Hand, Odell, etc. So price is pretty much a non issue.

I like St. Arnold. But I think its closest competitors are Real Ale and Abita, and both are better brewers, in my opinion. (Although Christmas Ale is better than anything the others make.) St. Arnold gets more business from me because their beers are available in more bars that I go to, but it's not what I prefer.

That is surprising. Minneapolis-St. Paul area has several breweries that brew for distribution along with many microbreweries that only sell in the bar. This is a market probably half the size of the Houston metro area.

You still haven't explained to us why you think it would be possible that Jeremy Lin would be invited to join the Japanese Olympic team.

Stone definitely doesn't fall under the same purview... and I'm pretty sure Avery doesn't either.

For example, Avery's Demon Series, Holy Trinity, and Dictator Series aren't so much in direct competition with Saint Arnold. And those beers make up a majority of their lineup. Those are beers made in smaller batches (or at least I imagine so, relative to the areas they're available in) with typically a higher ABV. The price per ounce no doubt reflects that, probably tripling what your typical Saint Arnold sixer costs.

DFH typically isn't priced that much higher than Saint Arnold, really. And DFH is great as well, but their lineup isn't very balanced in terms of quality, same with Left Hand, IMO.

One of the things I think Saint Arnold can hang its hat on is the fact that they produce a myriad of beers that are very good, a very diverse portfolio that maintains a good amount of quality. Their label isn't carried by one single good brew, or type of brew, unlike some others.

I'm gonna go ahead and crack open a Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale or 5 tonight while watching two top-10 college basketball matchups.

Keystone is probably the best beer in the game right now. Those commercials with Keith Stone? Glorious. It's a shame it wasn't mentioned
