The rockets have ****ing nothing that Orlando would take. Nothing. An old scola, old dalembert. Kevin martin who most people here think is worthless. Chase. Parsons. Patterson. Dragic. Who the **** would take them for Dwight Howard. Kyle is really the only desirable player they have, and he's not going to net you the best center in the NBA.

I think it's time we get over the ****ing r****ded notion that Dwight howard is coming here. Ever.

    1. Dwight on Rockets would be no better than Dwight on Magic
Take another look at that pathetic roster. Ryan Anderson is their second best player. I'm not sure anyone on that team other than Howard would crack a starting lineup elsewhere in the NBA. That front office should be cleaned out for assembling the single worst supporting cast in the league. LeBron had it better with the Cavs.

Rockets could give up 5 their five best players and STILL have reasonable depth.

    2. Rockets have nothing to offer
No one in the league is going to offer "fair value" for Dwight. Doesn't exist. Franchise Superstars never bring back equal return. The key is, offering more than the other suitors.
Knicks have no draft picks, and their offer is Chandler and Amare's uninsurable megacontract.
Clippers aren't inclined to deal Blake.
Chicago hasn't expressed open interest (yet) and were well known to be stingy in Melo discussions
Lakers have Bynum and/or Pau....but Little Buss has been slow to offer Bynum to anyone. They do have the big TE to absorb Turkoglu
Dallas has almost nothing as a trade piece (Roddy? a couple big expiring deals?)
Nets lost Lopez, and already gave up most of their draft picks. MarShon Brooks is the only other possibility.
All the above (Knicks, Nets aside) have late first rounders to offer

Rockets have the Knicks pick. They've got Martin. They've got a selection of PFs. It's not a treasure trove, but it could beat out the lowball offers from the "list" teams. Looking at what Melo, Deron, and Paul went for, it's not unreasonable.

    Back in the 90's:
    1. The Rockets were contenders.
    2. The website was called clutchcity.com
    3. Play was way more physical and the league was full of legit big men.
    4. The level of basketball talk was way more literate. Posters like me lurked because we were too interested in learning something than to upset the signal to noise ratio with rookie stupidity.

    Today:
    1. The team is still the Rockets and I still watch them.
    2. Calvin Murphy is not longer employed with our favorite organization, but if he was, he would have already made it clear: "Dwight Howard is not going to be a Rocket."
    3. Posters like the OP are not being ridiculed sufficiently.

    Please continue.

    Dwight have a list
    And checking it twice,
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice

New Jersey have 2 of what Dwight wants, Dwill + the place Brooklyn(soon)
    Houston ????
    I would rather try and draft M.Leonard + J.Lamb or B.Beal

    M.Leonard + D.Motiejunas + M.Morris + J.Lamb + K.Lowry

Maybe we can get P.George, if we trade K.Lowry + K.Mart, yeah not gonna happen

    M.Leonard + D.Motiejunas + P.George + J.Lamb + S.llull

THIS. and if you dont think our players are good enough to net the superstar, why is every other team using us as a third team? because our players are desirable...

only team he has said he wont sign an extension with so far is golden state... it is possible...

chicago- d.rose controls adidas market in chicago(and adidas doesnt want them together)
Knicks- no way they take uninsured amare' with oft-injured tyson
nets- have no talent outside of d.will(who wouldn't be traded anyways)
dallas- get real.. all they have is dirk
Lakers- pose the only real possibility out of the "list" but i dont see moving both bynum and pau(especially after bynums current season)

rockets have everything they have said they want in a trade...
    established veterans to stay competetive-----check
    expiring contracts to save cap----------------check
    young talent with upside---------------------check
    draft picks----------------------------------check

extras to intice dwight to stay...
    cap room to sign d.will-----------------------check
    friend on the team(C.Lee)--------------------check
    big market(for adidas)"and himself"------------check
    better supporting cast(even after trade)------check

    houston out- sammy/martin/ppat/dragic/bud/morris/thabeet/ny1st/hou1st - salery out $30,393,189

    houston in- dwight/hedo/q.rich/liggins - salery in $32,027,424

    dwight/hill/donut
    scola/hill/donut
    parsons/hedo/qrich
    c.lee/t.will/liggins
    lowry/flynn

i like it... and possibly best deal orlando gets offered...

    take it even farther...

    lowry/scola/parsons for d.will

    d.will/flynn
    c.lee/t.will/liggins
    hedo/q.rich
    hill/donut/greg smith
    dwight/donut/greg smith

pretty slim for depth as it stands but still have some cap space for a decent small forward... plus two 2nd rd picks...

Why would Howard accept a lateral move from a 15-10 team with no support to a 14-11 team with all the support being traded for him? He's not coming to Houston, get over it.

Howard doesn't want to come here. Will it take D. Howard coming at you with a red hot poker to make you realise this? Dreams get annoying if reiterated too often.

Last I checked, Orlando wasn't owned by Leslie Alexander. They're not afraid to be bad for a little while. In fact, the last time they were, it landed them Dwight Howard in the draft. Why would they want to switch places with the Rockets by taking on the core of our team? They're better of calling Howard's bluff and letting him walk, if he's willing to do it. If this was a Magic forum, we would rather let Dwight walk, right? Isn't that what everyone has been clamoring for? Being rescued from 'mediocrity'?

    Ouch.

I agree that Orlando should call his bluff. If he leaves, then he leaves with a pay cut and the Magic just suck it up and go lotto fishing.

Nelson would start on Knicks, Lakers, Kings, etc. JRich would start on Bulls, Knicks, Wolves, etc. Ryan has been a borderline Allstar to some.

We're the best option for them to get something before Dwight leaves without them getting anything. That's why we think we can get him, leave your ignorance at the door please...

Perhaps you jest, but you know what, that is a possibility, remote yes, but that kid has some serious potential in my opinion. I saw Hakeem when he first came to UH, talk about raw, but you knew there was potential. With
Thabeet, you know there is a giant chasm of empty dreams. Smith is another feeling.
