We don't have #1 but will anyone else give that up either? I doubt it.

We may have the best #2 to offer of any team. Depends on where the Knicks are sitting at the trade deadline. If it looks like they will land in the 6-9 range that could be the best draft pick available at the trade deadline.

Also, Howard didn't say he did not want to play here. He hasn't said he does want to play here either.

    Uhhh.... the Houston Magic....

If Morey is the mix dealing for Howard obviously they would have to take on half of Orlando's roster. Its a necessary evil, but I would hope whatever they have to take on can be flipped quick. Do not want Hedo, or JRich on the Rockets but its a real reality of what the Rockets would have left to work with I guess.

    Dragic, Llull, Duhon
    Lee, JRich
    Parsons, Hedo
    Morris, Donatas, Adrien
    Howard

    + 2 2nd round picks

Thats pretty weak roster support much like the New York Knicks situation when they aquired Melo, but I dont doubt that Dwill might also be in play here. If all else fails other free agent role players should flock to the Rockets anyways. Could be a rough transition though to put the rest of the surrounding cast together.

Who am I kidding, If they get Howard to commit to Houston, go for it.

That is exactly right. Just as long as we have the cap space to sign DWill in the offseason.

The Clippers can trump our offer (Blake/Deandre). But will they??? I just don't think it's going to happen.

The Lakers can trump our offer but they are contract locked. They can't get far enough under the cap to sign DWill. Therefore, they won't offer Bynum and Pau.

Chicago is going to have to offer Noah, Deng, Boozer to compete with our offer. NJ cannot offer the quality assets we have. The Knicks could offer a dinged Amare and Chandler but I seriously doubt Orlando trades him there so he can dominate over them for the next 10 years. Besides, no insurance for Amare and Tyson with constant injury problems is not a real long term solution and a possible money pit.

There is no other team that can offer Orlando all the options we have. Established talent, young talent, cap space, picks and everybody we have on reasonable good value contracts so Orlando can move them again if they want to. Orlando can pretty much mix and match anything they want from us so long as it leaves us in a position to sign DWill outright in free agency and we've got enough guys like Parsons/Lee laying around to still field a full unit.

Houston is not on Howard's list. Unfortunately, Dallas happens to be on that list.

Dallas can't trade for him. Orlando will trade him to Houston before they let him walk to Dallas.

To everyone who keeps saying this: His list is of teams he would definitely sign an extension with. He has not ruled any team out for signing an extension.

Myself, I don't care about his list. I would happily push the chips into the pile and rent him.

Worst case scenario, we finally blow things up and start over.

It would be fantastic to have a top 5 player in a Rockets uniform for the first time since the mid-90s.

Adidas wants him to dominate a major market? Here you go.

And I would absolutely call their bluff about the extension. Refuse to S&T and see if he'd really leave $30M on the table to sign with Brooklyn or Dallas. I don't think he will. I think we could clear the decks for him and STILL have more than enough left over to be a Finals contender.

I love everyone on our team...but we're going nowhere (serious) with this cast. It's time to be bold.

You know what's hillarious is all you guys that say I'm negative about this team but you meander around looking for a penny in the dirt and discussing acquiring players like Kaman and being negative about the possibilities of acquiring a superstar that would make this team championship competitive. That makes absolutely no sense at all to me.

Why don't you wake up and realize we are in the running to obtain Dwight and root for that end and look at our team ability to convert our contracts, talent, and draft picks into something truly great instead of thinking like 20 GMs in the NBA think, that is these little dink dunk trades that really don't do anything besides move us from draft pick 14 to draft pick 19 or draft pick 20 to draft pick 15 because all they do is make us a little bit better or worse in mediocrity?

Wake up and start rooting for an end to mediocrity!

Yeah. It is time for Morey to make a big play. Use the assets. Too many of them are stuck playing overseas, D-League, riding the bench. We shouldn't have to gut the entire roster to get a superstar. We're deep and teams don't have room to add 7 players to their roster anyway.

So, you want him to be in the same situation he is in now with Orlando by coming here? He does not want to be here. Morey would be dumb to give up half our key players for him and at the end of the year have him walk and also not have a championship to show for it.

    This is dumb.

We would be in position to sign DWill this offseason which means we would be in position to trade for him before NJ loses him for nothing. It's NOT the same as Orlando.

The possibility of getting both Howard and DWill in here at the trade deadline is very real.

I think he would be a perfect fit for the current team; unfortunately, the current would not exist if he came here, therefore, he is not coming.
