Well said. The speed, skill, and flow of the modern NBA game are beautiful to watch. Far too many people base their enjoyment of a sport on how much violence it contains.
Adrien rebounds and bodies up when defending the post. Good fundamental basketball. I'll take 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots in 17 minutes please. Plus, at 6'7" he's taller than Chuck Hayes
LOVE McHales distributin of pt - its called ACCOUNTABILITY! Kudos to him! As far as Scola... you gotta dance to tune that's being played... agree totally with the earlier poster who cited 'flopping' example. NBA isnt gonna tolerat thuggery - kudos to Scola for not landing himself a suspension!
Hill's the definition of inconsistent. With Adrien, you know he doesn't have the physical tools of Jordan, but he plays hard, and good defense will always be there. And from a bench guy, that's all you really want from them. This comparison reminds a lot of Parsons vs. Bud. One guys good is higher than the others but the consistent one will always get the extra minutes.
Well the flop-era we have now is way uglier IMHO. At least back then players were willing to put their lives on the line for their team. Now, these players just demand millions upon millions and then cry about how their team sucks (*cough*Melo*cough*S-Jax*).
...+1 K-Mart rarely lacks effort on either end. He may have an off night shooting wise but he will drive to the bucket like he did last night & eventually get to the foul line. On the other end his defensive intensity has picked up since it is now demanded of him before that was never the case RA was his coach majority of his career. & we all know RA is 4:5 ration type coach where 80% you exert on the offensive end & 20% on the defensive end. Reggie Theus isn't defensive orientated either.
Hmmm....AB is not a scrub, Von was a backup - I guess he could be a scrub, Langhi - yeah, definitly a scrub, VSpan - could have been a player but scrubbed himself out of the league. So, Hi back to them, not sure what any of that had to do with the fact that we beat the Nuggets scrubs though. DD
Basketball isn't really about Xs & Os till the last two minutes of each game (yes this is where we have lost a few games this year). However its still up to the players to execute at the end of the day. & give McHale a chance to change the mindset (the difficult part especially in a shortened season) of not only the team but the overall organization. He comes from winning pedigree, the Xs & Os are the easy part to implement especially when your GM DRAFTS & signs free agents with high IQs. Hill, Williams, Flynn don't really count they are/were low cost investments with any reward being taken as a plus seeing that they were traded for. Not to mention they are expiring contracts & I see that Morey has a goal it may be readjusted from time to time but he has a goal in mind & a plan to execute that goal out into fruition. Finally the expectation shouldn't have been HiGH on any of those players I named they are all castaways for Christ sake. Be rational people.
Did you watch the NBA during the post-clothesline era? Have you checked out Mark Price's concussion that ultimately helped usher in MJ's era? Yeah, flopping stinks. But not in the same league as clotheslining etc.
