Can I tell you how much I LOVE this show. I love this show. I hope they go head to head with idol, cause I'll drop idol like a bad habit. The coaches on this show are freakin! great.

The winners of American Idol, The Voice, and The X Factor should have to fight to the death.

idol and the x factor would go down if that happen. imo, the voice is the future of singing competitions, idol is so played out and the x factor plain sucks.

I watch the Voice because the musical talent on that show is top notch. The people that got chosen tonight all had very good voices that just need the right producer to believe in them. The opera guy made a very ballsy move to sing the song he did, but his voice got him on the show.

Also, the team competition aspect makes the show interesting and creates some unique banter between the four coaches. The only coach at a disadvantage is Blake Shelton because of his country music background.

I love, love, LOVE Tony Lucca (no homo). Was so surprised to see him competing. Early favorite for sure.

Competition looks a bit tougher this year. Also, Christina is pretty annoying.

blasphemy, i'd take christina over jlo, nicole, paula, ellen.

The only female judge I like as well as her is: kara dioguardi. She great. but other than that i'm in to the whole judge ribbing aspect of the show. And besides, when christina gets too wacky blake or some other judge calls her on her bull****. #lovethis

but yeah I'm a big fan of kara!

Haha, yep. I was watching with my mom and she was like, "That guy is really pretty. Too pretty. Please don't be like him. And what on earth is he singing?"

    lol.

I am really enjoying the show, I love all the judges including christina. I SO want the voice to go head to head with idol and drill idol into the ground so they can just cancel that show.

Watching this show for the first time and have to admit I love it. Never got into Idol and all that. Glad my wife made me watch with her.

So far, all the singers I've REALLY liked have picked Adam. I was rooting for Team Adam and Javier last season and it looks like I'll be doing the same this season.

Does anyone else find it annoying that they always say, "AND you're good looking"? I know it helps their music career, but they focus a lot on it for a show that's suppose to be just about "the voice."

Maybe they should cut back on that some, otherwise i agree, it's been better than Idol.

This show is ok. It is annoying that it is clearly not just about "The Voice". If it was, it'd be blind basically the whole time.

Also, Christina is definitely annoying. She just yammers on. She never says anything intelligent. And her feud with Adam, which clearly the producers are promoting cause I guess some people enjoy it, is dumb.

Blake is hilarious, and the most likeable judge by far. Adam is likable. C-Lo is surprisingly blah, and Christina is annoying.

When they don't choose someone, they barely ever give any meaningful advice. It's usually "Oh, you were great, why didn't I pick you?!?!?" Uh, because you didn't like they way they sounded?

It is nice not to have to listen to the horrible contestants.

Finally, while I didn't watch the whole season last year, it was pretty obvious Javier was going to win many episodes before the finale. Which is fine, when one person stands out that much, that's ok. He's not my style of music, so a quick wiki search shows he did indeed release an album in November. It looks like it's highest chart position was 134 overall and 20 in R&B. Now that's not bad, true, but in 2003 he released an album on Capital Records that hit 91 overall and 18 in the R&B charts. So the show isn't exactly launching careers. Which means it clearly isn't finding "The Voice"

Not that I think American Idol is that great either. A quick look at who won last year, the Scotty kid, and he's also released an album, last October. It apparently peaked as high as #1 on the billboard top 200. So clearly, Idol is still more relevant, for the moment.

I think the Voice is geared more towards adults, and as an adult I prefer it. But whether it's AI, X Factor, The Voice, whatever... it's on the DVR and may watch it if there's no game on and the wife wants to, but otherwise they are all kind of boring shows these days. And I love reality shows. Just more excited about The Amazing Race or Top Chef. AI, X Factor, The Voice fall into the E! reality show bucket to me.

Scotty is the exception to the rule. He is definitely not the norm. Most idol winners go the way of Javier. Hell, I myself considered buying scotty's album.

as far as all the intelligence factors, umm, this is an entertainment show - it's not a college grad course on voice infliction. I'm not quite sure what you WANT her to say.

btw, a couple of times when they didn't pick a contestant (actually more than a couple of times) she explained her reasoning and gave advice. She told one person who asked what they could have done and she said pitch problems, another guy she told him that she would have liked more range.

every year you guys attack the female judges for being ditzy and annoying. Has there every been a female judge you've actually liked? sounds like you are projecting your female problems onto the female judges. Tell me that's not the case. you must be hearing your own nagging wife - lololol

I've watched these first 2. That football player from Yale was just horrible. I almost feel bad for him because he's probably been told his entire life that he should be a professional singer. Now, he quits the team and drops out of freaking Yale for what?

I did feel bad for the chick from Houston. She was looking for some kind of vindication for her existence from this show and was also just bad.

yeah, that's exactly what it sounds like. never mind that my wife agrees with me. Christina is ditzy and annoying... not because she's a woman, because she is. I think Jennifer Lopez is a better judge. sorry. you are well within your rights to disagree.

please don't psychoanalyze me, though. your barking up the wrong tree.

that said, I'd agree that she was almost the only one to actually provide any advice at one point....

It's either that or it's because she talks more than the other 3 judges combined and wont let Adam talk for more than 2 seconds without interrupting.
