Every once in a while I give him a chance to act like a real human being.

Repped for the extremely obscure character reference.

Well then can you at least do me a favor and explain in the other thread how and why Jeremy Lin might be invited by Japan to play for them in the Olympics?

Eighteen years from this very date you will be stabbed in the neck with a butcher knife because you refused to hand over your expensive watch in your driveway.

You will lay on the ground bleeding to death from your cut throat, staring at your watch on another man's wrist.

The man that killed you would have been aborted as a 1-week old cluster of cells if Texas law hadn't insisted that his mother have a sonogram prior to the abortion.

RIP bigtexxx. It will not have been nice knowing you 18 years from now, but in all reality, by that point most of us will have no idea who you were in the first place. But, still, I'm sure you're in someone's prayers.

I haven't been following this that closely but is the whole law going into effect? Did the TX Legislature rewrite it to get around the courts?

I am glad someone finally spoke out on the 'rape' comparisons. Personally, I don't agree with abortions. I think once the cells have split, the cycle of life has begun. It has nothing to do with religion. I am not particularly religious. I just think it's murder. Regardless, abortion is legal. However, it is an extremely controversial and dichotomous issue. Except for life/death situations, rape, or incest, why should the state ever pay for an elective procedure?

Abortion, minus those particular situations, is an elective procedure. The state isn't going to pay for your boob job, why should they pay for an elective abortion. You can't use the excuse that the mother is poor, and unable to take care of the child, she should have thought of that before she got pregnant. Use a condom, get on birth control. I don't think many people have a problem with providing these things to women/men (condoms) for free or extremely cheap. Abortions are a cop out. If you make a mistake, you have to live with it, you don't get to choose to end a life just so you don't have to worry about how to deal with the kid. There are adoption agencies and family that can take care of the child.

I am trying to research the methods of abortion to better understand the issue. I would like to know about the suction method used for late 1st and 2nd trimester. It seems like that would be similar to this ultrasound. I don't know, I am not a female, so I am cautious to decide. However, abortionists and women can't claim that the sonogram is an invasive medically unnecessary procedure because in 95% of the abortions are not medically necessary either. I still don't think that is an excuse for conservatives to force something so invasive onto someone who is doing something legally. UNLESS the state is going to pay for them, in which case I don't see a problem with it.

While PP doesn't make a significant amount of money off of abortions (accounts for something like 15% of their revenue) they do provide over 300,000 a year.

The state should only be paying for medically necessary procedures. If you want something that isn't necessary YOU pay for it. That's why we have switched to Managed Care.

First, I seriously doubt you're laughing- conservative chuckleheads like yourself don't have a sense of humor.

Second, if you're going the route of "protecting a potential human life," then you need to be the flag-waver for banning masturbation, because any emission of sperm that is not intended for inside a woman's vagina should be illegal. I think it falls under "reckless abandonment."

Third, Donny doesn't need to try harder. He makes way more sense than someone like you who relies on the Neolithic Manifesto as his guide to daily living.
