If he gets up and says something or gets in Love's face about it he's not suspended either. Nobody said he should've tried to go all Ron Artest on him.

As soon as he starts losing money over it. If not, never.

Is that Kurt Rambis, or a young Jeff Fisher?

    Kevin Love statement:

"I want to publicly apologize to Luis Scola and the Houston Rockets. My intention is to never hurt another player on the basketball court. I’ve always had the utmost respect for the game of basketball and all of my opponents. I also apologize to my coaches, teammates and our fans for the consequences of my actions."

Right after that happened, Scola went to apologize or at least see that he was ok... .gif doesn't capture that

Kevin Love did not do the same after stepping on Scola. That's a clear indicator to me, that Kevin Love knew what he was doing.

Kevin Love knew exactly what he was doing. I don't think he's a bad guy but a mistake that he made in the heat of the moment.

I'm interested in knowing if any of the refs are on film actually watching the play? If everyone was running the other way, still bad refereeing, but if someone actually witnessed it and didn't blow the whistle, they should be fired.

lol that guy says he should have "Fallen down" with him which is pure bull**** because he's a 7 footer with long ass legs and could have probably stepped around Scola instead of over him. If he was some 4foot midget with tree stumps as legs then yea, I could see why he would use the excuse of "falling" as the reason why you would stomp on someone

Can't wait til this downie comes back to houston.

Hi, I just joined CF to follow Dragić(i'm form Slovenia too).
Anyway a similar thing happened last year to a player (and national team teammate of Dragić) of Union Olimpija(former club of Dragić). Mike Batist who stepped on Ožbolts(white jersey) face got away with no suspension or anything. All he got was an unsportsmanlike foul! Oh and the coach made him apologize :D

"I have 19 size feet, where else was I suppose to go" to "I should have stepped over him or fallen down with him".

    Couple of final thoughts:
    • The play where Scola threw the ball off Love was a "bang bang" play. Clearly not intentional (at least the nut shot) and Scola apologized right away. Compare that to Love's stepping on Scola's face. Love fouled Scola hard across the arms to knock him down. He looked down at Scola and then stepped on his face. He continued on down the court even though he had to know he stepped on Scola. He apologized after the game. He commented about the nut shot play in the process of explaining his side of the face stomp (basically admitting he was thinking of it when he stepped on Scola's face).
    • That said, the suspension and changing of the no-call to a flagrant +2 was the correct one.
    • Love apologized again, with no excuses this time. People make mistakes. Moving on.

That all said, the Rocket players do need to toughen up, and back either up when these types of things happen. I don't think Love will take another shot a a Rocket player (I really don't think its in his nature) but other players will... and officials will continue to look the other way. A "hard foul" will send a message back. Look at baseball... if you get plunked by a pitcher that just got lit up by your team, you expect your pitcher to respond back. I am not suggesting a nut shot, but a moving screen, a shoulder, or well-timed shove will let opponents know you won't just take it.
